The biggest barrier I've faced in helping newcomers to the market transition from soft/hardlines to cannabis is that many of them come into it thinking of the products as constants, rather than focusing on the seasonality and generational changes within a plant. Being able to show my clients how cannabis and derived materials more closely fit the bill of grocery or quick-service items has helped bridge this gap wonderfully in both merchandising and sales. Seeing cannabis as this dynamic, transformative thing can help break even the least experienced users into the world of terpenes, flavanoids, and other fascinating cannabinoids. It is such a gift to live in a time where safe, tested manufactured products are so accessible; and to have ready access to testing data in order to familiarize ourselves with the "sisters" and "cousins" of the products we and our patients/customers enjoy. As 4H taught me, "to make the best better!". I want to be the ripple in this industry that makes cannabis more accessible and desirable to markets who never dreamt of interacting with it.
