A few weeks ago CMS proposed a rule to establish national minimum nurse staffing standards for LTC facilities, the adoption of a 24/7 RN requirement, and enhanced facility assessment as necessary measures to protect resident health and safety. Here are a few potential implications. ✔️Increased dependency on nurse staffing agencies considering the current nationwide nursing shortage may put home healthcare facilities at a disadvantage ✔️Without any prospect of funding to support this increased expenditure rural home healthcare facilities are likely to face the impact ✔️Considering that the demand for home healthcare staffing is projected to increase in the coming years this is a good push for facilities to look to work with long-term staffing partners designed to support them #RedRoad #CMS #cmslaw #Homehealthcare
