Learning Technologies 30u30 2024 | Passionate about utilising technology to enable collaborative, peer-to-peer learning
Today is World Mental Health Day, a day to raise awareness about mental health. Talking is essential for good mental health, and discussing mental health is crucial. However, starting a conversation about mental health is not always easy. Let's take a step forward and break the stigma by starting a conversation today. I’ve signed the petition to UK government to reform the Mental Health Act before the next general election. Together we can push for more rights and choice for people who are in a mental health hospital. Sign the petition here: https://lnkd.in/eUdzzesd #WorldMentalHealthDay #mentalhealth

I hear a lot about #mentalhealth initiatives from #government and local councils etc but I have to come a sad conclusion that they all lack one thing - action. For 40,50,60,70 and more years, when it comes to mental health care, we have been kicking the same can down the road. Time and time again. It is 2024 and we are still kicking the same can down the same road. Lots of soundbites. Lots of phrases and so called ‘positive statements’ but without action they are meaningless. There are people with degrees , letters after their names and contacts in high places. But whilst that can be helpful, we have to listen to those with lived experience and allow them to play a much bigger part in how we provide mental health support. It’s time to pick up that can, stop kicking it down the same road to nowhere and start acting. Together we can make a difference.

Here are some resources to help kick start that conversation. #NoMindLeftBehind Millions of people in the UK are battling treatment-resistant depression, which presents a substantial healthcare challenge. This Mental Awareness Week 13th - 19th May, we recognise the need for diverse positive mental health solutions. Although still in the experimental phase, innovative approaches like #psychedelic-assisted therapy offer new hope for the treatment for mental health conditions, with the UK leading the charge. At FIECON, we are passionate about introducing the most effective solutions for individuals facing unmet treatment needs and understand the importance of equipping everyone with the necessary knowledge and tools to support and manage their mental well-being. We're all part of an important journey where everyone has access to the care and resources they need to thrive. #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek #MentalHealthInnovation
