A must have for your Emergency Planning toolbox 😉I was able to talk to one of the creators, of this tool. She went through the NZ earthquake (2010), just months before we experienced the 9.0 earthquake, in Japan. Jolie Wilis spoke about her lived experience and it spoke to the one I shared. This tool assists people to “eat the elephant, one bite at a time😉 Mental Health in response planning, is paramount to successful recovery! https://hummingly.co/

🕊️ Today, April 4th, marks the "International Day for Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action", a poignant reminder of the enduring impacts of landmines and explosive remnants of war. As we continue our efforts to clear these hazards, it's imperative to recognize their profound medical ramifications. 🏥 Beyond the visible physical injuries, survivors often endure invisible wounds that cut deep into their psyche. Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, and depression frequently plague those affected, casting a shadow long after the dust settles. Acknowledging this dual burden is essential in providing comprehensive care to survivors. 💡 Advocating for integrated medical services is paramount, where physical rehabilitation and mental health support intertwine seamlessly. By addressing both dimensions, we not only heal wounds but also nurture resilience and empower individuals to reclaim their lives. 🤝 Let's stand together in solidarity, championing a holistic approach to care that honors the dignity and well-being of every survivor. Through advocacy, education, and unwavering support, we pave a path towards brighter, more hopeful futures for all. #InternationalDayforMineAwareness #MineAction #MedicalPerspective #PhysicalHealth #MentalHealth #IntegratedCare #Advocacy #BuildingResilience

Fostering resilience in ourselves and our communities is how we develop antibodies to violence. But what does resilience mean—beyond the individualistic stories of peeps bouncing back from trauma? Resilience, it turns out, is more social than individual. It sometimes means being lax—taking time away from labor and chores, nurturing and recharging, so we can get up and show up for team peace, each and every day. It means prioritizing our own wellbeing along with the wellbeing of our neighbors. Community builds immunity. It means aligning our healing with the healing of nature. It means recognizing that none of us is alone in this world. Separation is a mirage. Interdependence is truth. When we’re healthy, we’re lax, we’re healed, we’re TOGETHER. This collective effort to find flourishing and peace in our day becomes easier. It becomes not only possible, but probable—a self-fulfilling prophecy! If you’re looking for a community to help strengthen your resilience in, join us at URI (United Religions Initiative) https://hubs.la/Q02vJ9Q10
