Cleanliness, appearance, safety, lighting, bio suppression, pretty much anything you would see. You know the the stations of the front door to our system, right? It's the first thing people see when they come in. It's the last thing when they leave. So it's our responsibility to make sure that experience is a good one and a safe one and a secure one.
Tap to Ride. On August 1, we’re launching our new contactless payment system for easier, more convenient ways to pay. Riders will be able to tap a contactless debit/credit card, phone with a mobile wallet, or watch at new fare readers on buses, on Green Line and Mattapan Line trolleys, and at gated subway stations. Our modern fare payment system offers a one-step option for pay-as-you-go travel, saving riders time on their trips.

“Mixed-use transit-oriented developments like the one to come in Downtown Attleboro are critical as we partner with local communities to promote economic development, introduce more affordable housing, and assist the Commonwealth in its climate change goals,” said General Manager and CEO Eng. “The MBTA is committed to partnering with the communities we serve to develop safe, walkable, interconnected public spaces focused around our stations. We thank the City of Attleboro Redevelopment Authority for their work on this RFQ and look forward to collaborating with them as the project moves forward.”
