Two of our communities, The Commons at Dallas Ranch and The Commons at Elk Grove, recently participated in the Del Oro 19th Annual Cook-off Around the World event! This fundraiser supported family caregivers through the Del Oro Caregiver Resource Center. Our chefs impressed with dishes like Ahi Tuna Ceviche, Elote Corn Ribs, and Mexican wedding cookies. We're proud to support our local communities and showcase the exceptional culinary talent of our chefs! 🍽️🌍 #BetterTogether #CulinaryExcellence #CommunitySupport #MBKSeniorLiving #ReasonForBeing

Saturday, April 20, from 1:00 - 4:00 pm, is our day for an ALA-Oregon Chapter fun-filled social event full of camaraderie, bowling, and food! Register by April 10! Several of you participated in past events supporting the Sunshine Division, and we want to continue that support! We are hoping that you can bring one or more non-perishable food items for donation to the Sunshine Division as your entrance to this event—the more the better! This is an exciting opportunity to connect with your fellow members and business partner colleagues while we continue our support of a local community partner. Perhaps a bit of competitive bowling or competitive eating—who knows! Knowing that weekends are often family time, our event is open to your 1 and kids. The Grand Central Bowling venue should be a fun way to mix and mingle, enjoy some good food, enjoy bowling at your leisure, or take in a few arcade game activities. Space is limited so register at oregonala.org EARLY! Be sure to register yourself as well as any family members who will join. Please email Lori Hughes at [email protected] with any questions. Let her know if you will be bringing any children so that we can plan the menu and arcade opportunities. Let’s kick off spring together, support our local community, and spend time with the best in our community -- you! Sunshine Division Food Donation Recommendations: "We rely heavily on food donations to make our mission possible. We are always looking for the following non-perishable items: canned meats, pasta, rice, cereal, soup/broth, peanut butter, canned/dried beans, canned fruit, canned vegetables, cooking oil and shelf-stable milk. To ensure food safety we cannot use: Noncommercial or repackaged items, perishable items, open or used items, alcoholic beverages, damaged or unlabeled cans, homemade items." #networking #ALABuzz #LegalManagment #FoodDonation

Each day we hand out bagged meals to our clients who work offsite along with individuals who come to our front door seeking a meal. As summer approaches, and our need for bagged meals increases, you can help us feed the hungry by joining our Meal Bag Program and packing meals that we can hand out to those who need them! Here's how you can get started: 1. Pack lunches in a clear Ziploc bag and fill them with a granola bar or cracker pack, a small bag of chips or pretzels, a fruit cup packed in fruit juice (not syrup); raisins; or dried fruit 2. Please purchase items to make a sandwich (loaves of bread, turkey or ham slices, etc.) but do not pre-make the sandwiches 3. Optional— add a note of encouragement to let the person receiving the bagged meal know they are loved! 4. Knowing in warmer months we can hand out up to 200 meal bags a day, we kindly ask that you prepare and deliver at least 40 meals at a time. 5. Schedule a delivery time in advance at [email protected] or 984-272-2001 We're so grateful for the generosity of so many who have helped us sustain this program! And, the work must continue. Please join us in providing for the Raleigh community!
