Impressive movement within the Brazilian #fashionindustry, the merge between Arezzo&Co & Grupo SOMA will create a prowerful conglomerate with a portfolio of 34 brands and over 2,000 stores across Latin America. The merger comes as Brazil’s fashion sector, which includes Lojas Renner, Riachuelo, C&A, Inbrands, AMC Textile, among others that has seen increasing competition in recent years, with rising interest rates and the entrance of Chinese online fast-fashion retailer Shein in the country. An inmense opportunity for the new holding to go far and beyond Brazil and Latin American border to turn it into global, that will be a must, as many other companies in Brazil haven’t done it yet… Alexandre Birman Roberto Jatahy.

Circular business model is growing

Brave Kid - Renzo Rosso has been transforming his OTB ("Only The Brave') group into a hub for "unconventional luxury" that might go public in the upcoming years. Even in uncertain times, Renzo doesn't shy away from big bets. In 2023, he increased capex from 81 to 201 Mio. Euros, spending big on retail and real estate. For example, he purchased the building that houses the Paris HQ of Maison Margiela. The D2C drive seems to pay off. In FY, OTB increased its net sales by 12,4% at cFx to 1,8 bn Euros and reached a slightly higher Ebitda margin of 19,6%. The luxury brands Maison Margiela and JIL SANDER grew by double digits. Still, the big question is: Is Diesel turning the corner? Renzo says "Yes" and talks about an "important turnaround", thanks to bestsellers such as the 1DR bag.
