Artist. Think creatively. That’s the secret. Send me a message to receive a presentation of my works.
This abstract painting represents the interaction between erosion and oxidation processes, evoking a sense of time and decay. The use of rust and moss green tones creates a visual dialogue between opposing elements: the solidity of corroded metal and the delicacy of slowly growing moss. The rust hues symbolize the erosion and transformation of matter, while the traces of moss green suggest the resilience and regeneration of nature. #AbstractArt #ArtAndNature #ErosionAndOxidation #VisualDialogue #RustAndMoss #TimeAndDecay

🔬 THE REINTEGRATION OF THE PICTORICAL GAPS The reintegration of the pictorial gaps of the works is one of the most important aspects of a restoration intervention, from traditional works of art to the most refined contemporary art objects, where it is required. It plays a fundamental role in the aesthetic restitution of the artefact, allowing the observer to grasp even the deepest and most delicate aspects of the painting, through the correct balance in the gap-background relationship. Through a rich research project promoted by the Central Institute for Restoration (ICR), it was possible to delve deeper into this aspect, taking care of the details of the intervention, in particular: - choice of materials - processing of materials - processing time and temperature (°C). - application procedure The choice of glues, inert fillers and methods of application of the mixtures played a fundamental role in the final result of the intervention, influencing its saturation, reflection and softness. The technique used within the project is the one developed by Cesare Brandi at the end of the 1940s, based on the reconstruction of the reference color through the juxtaposition of vertical lines. It, typically used on a large percentage of works on canvas and panel, guarantees the perception of the corresponding tone from afar and the recognizability of the reintegrated portion at close range. #beniculturali #heritagescience #heritage #culture #restoration #conservationscience #

This book illuminates a side of Soane’s personality unfamiliar to most students of his life and work by examining key strands in his collection and what they reveal about Soane and the psychology of collecting. Topics include the display of antiquities; his fascination with ruins, both literal and figurative; his singular response to Gothic architecture; and his investment in modern British painting and sculpture. These aspects are bookended by an introductory biographical chapter that highlights the ways in which his family and career informed his collecting habits as well as an epilogue that analyses the challenges of turning a private house and collection into a public museum. https://lnkd.in/g4sbdy8g

Artist and artist educator, Recording the land ahead of development. Luminous colour, lyrical line, elemental shapes, tantalizing texture, utilizing a unique process I have developed and call glazed acrylic.
Rural Geometry, Usually I'm attracted to the patterns I see in the undulation of the land, but in this flat as a pancake plateau, the patterns are all straight lines, the geometry of man. Glazed Acrylic, on cradled wooden panel, ready to hang, 12x16, $340.00 consigned to Art and Soul Port Stanley https://buff.ly/49sygfc

Yesterday marked the 40th anniversary of the infamous Battle of Orgreave. What happened there is still hard to believe. In 2022, Taylor Wimpey asked me to design/make two sculptures for the new Waverley development at the former Orgreave site. The brief was open-ended, but I felt a heavy responsibility to create something contemporary that honoured the miners without resorting to clichés. After watching historical documentaries for research, I decided to talk with a miner who experienced the events firsthand. Fortunately, I knew several steelworkers from the '80s and '90s who connected me with Ian, an 18-year-old miner at the time. Our two-hour conversation was filled with insights about the life of a miner, the camaraderie, and sense of belonging. His vivid memories of the underground structures were particularly inspiring. The first sculpture titled ‘Fight or Flight’ captures the turbulence of the battle of Orgreave, the twisted, tornado like artwork pays respect to the miners, but also looks to a brighter future referencing the skewed, propellor blade making at the nearby Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre. The second sculpture titled ‘Hero Within’ shrinks, tapering at the bottom, symbolising the endless drop down into the earth - a vertical journey the miners faced every day. The word HERO is used to close the sculpture. The semi-hidden word flips Margret Thatchers famous ‘Enemy Within’ slogan to commemorate the miners and their brutal treatment. Creating these sculptures was a honour and a journey into an shocking & uncomfortable moment in history. The pieces pay tribute to the miners resilience and symbolise hope for the future. #sapien #battleoforgreave #40years #socialhistory #waverley #publicart #artwithoutwalls #culturalidentity #sitespecific #sculptures #publicrealm #commissions #sculptor #contemporarysculpture #abstractart #tellingstories #artrevolution #cultureenrichment #engagingplaces #yorkshiresculptures #publicrealm #placemaking

Essay: About Light, 2022 As Chiaroscuro surfaced as the most plastic of the canonical painting methods from the Renaissance, its presence in not just painting, but both sculpture and architecture has given light to an existing Unity and its position within the hierarchy of values of art, postulated by Heinrich Wölfflin in his 1915. book titled: "Principles of Art History: The Problem of the Development of Style in Later Art".
