Lately we've shared posts featuring our network of talented system integrator resellers and our software development partners. Now it's the turn of third party hardware companies who have integrated ART tracking systems as part of their products, and today we're looking at Argus Science of Massachusetts, USA. Argus Science uses our 𝗦𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗧𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗖𝗞𝟯 as part of their ET3Space gaze tracking system to capture accurate positional head movement for their ETVision glasses. SMARTTRACK3 is a preferred motion tracking device for this and similar applications due to it's small size, portability and high accuracy. #ARTracking #immersiveexperience #opticaltracking #virtualreality https://lnkd.in/eSQq6f3k

I get itchy when folks treat "control" as some sort of magical totem that equals PERFECTION. Laser Scanning workflows benefit from survey control, 100%. But simply stating "scan using control" or "always use control" misses the means and methods of the control methodology that need to be present. Personally, I've had a project with the surveyor didn't log their prism constants, and shot my LIDAR targets with either a 0 offset, or a 30mm offset. The only way to figure out which shots were incorrect was guess and check. I ended up throwing out the entire control network and starting over with a new surveyor. What is the quality of your control? Set using an RTS? How many station setups did it take to traverse into the scanning area? What were the surveyors residuals on their station setups, residuals on the backsights? Was it even set by competent operator? Loop Closure, or dead end shots? Elevations established Digital Level? When was the last time any of the equipment was calibrated? When was the last time the rod was checked for level? Fundamentally, sacrificing accuracy or additional self-calibration for field expediency makes me nervous, but that might just be a me problem.
Calling all Leica Geosystems part of Hexagon #RTC360 users! How are you using the High Tilt Accuracy feature on your scanner? I feel like everyone I talk to has a different philosophy on how it "should be used." I have heard the following: - Only use it on the first scan - Use it on the first few scans - Use it on scans towards the center of your project only - Use it on scans spread out throughout the site - Use it on every scan - You don't need to use it Comment below! I would love to hear what people are doing with it... #laserscanning #3dlaserscanning #realitycapture

Capturing a fire or arson scene is the first step in the investigation workflow. The next step is to manage the data collected at the scene using Leica Geosystems' reality capture software. Imagine having a digital 3D Replica, also known as a forensic digital twin, of the scene you are standing in, captured at up to two million points per second using the RTC360, that you can quickly and simply add notes to with thoughts that are fresh in your mind at that time?
