At our latest PFL Connect session, our experts highlighted that many mothers wait until the second trimester to disclose their pregnancy to their employer. This cultural norm stems from the fact that 80% of pregnancy losses occur in the first trimester, leading to superstitious beliefs that discourage early announcements. However, newly pregnant working mothers should inform their HR as soon as possible.
