Early access to blood can make all the difference in an emergency situation. Such an important issue.
"Thirty seconds after that first pump, Izzy went from being unconscious to being alert and looking around." LifeFlow pumped the blood into this little girl as she was bleeding to death in her father's arms. NBC News highlights this incredible story of survival and the call for blood to be available to first responders everywhere. https://ow.ly/lE4850RREWL #EMSWeek Peter Antevy MD, Randall Schaefer, DNP, RN, ACNS-BC, CEN, Juan Duchesne, Meg Marino, David Long, MA, QinFlow (Quality in Flow), Handtevy - Pediatric Emergency Standards, Inc., Delta Development Team, Inc., Monti Leija, Matthew Levy, 60 MINUTES, NBC News

Latino and Black communities are disproportionately impacted by this. Where lack of access to healthcare forces patients to go to corporate institutions that are not focused on quality nor affordability but only on profits. It is a healthcare system where Latino and Black doctors and clinicians are underrepresented (4-6%) and in which longitudinal relationships between doctors and Latino and Black patients are rarely prioritized. Reestablishing SMB private practice in our communities is the first step towards disrupting the corporate practice of medicine in this country. That’s our mission at Ease and why we’re so laser focused on helping millions of doctors and clinicians regain their practice independence. cc XXL Magazine/xxlmag.com

Implementation and expansion of accessibility is an extremely important goal of ours. As blinded veterans, we know firsthand how difficult it is when everyday tasks are not accessible. That is why we support the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of Civil Rights proposal to update the implementation of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 which will provide people with disabilities more agency when dealing with their healthcare. Read more about the proposed update as well as BVA's comments at https://lnkd.in/duVmh6n2. [Image Description: A stock image of a teal stethoscope on top of a blank healthcare chart. Text on the image reads "BVA Supports HHS Update to Rulemaking Governing Section 504 Implementation." The text has a blue background.]

It shouldn't matter what it costs, it shouldn't matter what the logistics are. Lives are being saved with prehospital whole blood. Encourage your politicians to stop reimbursing EMS as a transport service and start treating EMS and the medical service that it is...
Time to look at how EMS care is impacted by archaic payment systems that keep lifesaving treatments from patients. #wholeblood #PrehospitalBloodTransfusionInitiativeCoalition #ColoradoWholeBloodCoalition

The new Advil ad, as seen on believemypain.com is crucial in addressing the historical injustice of medical bias towards Black individuals. Historically, doctors have often ignored Black people's pain, falsely accusing them of being drug addicts rather than providing the necessary care and empathy. This ad appears to illuminate this troubling issue, urging healthcare professionals and society to acknowledge and rectify these deeply entrenched biases. By challenging these stereotypes and advocating for equitable access to pain relief, this campaign is vital in raising awareness and fostering positive change in the medical field, ensuring that all individuals, regardless of their racial background, receive the care and respect they deserve. #Advil #BelieveMyPain #EquityInHealthcare
