It is okay not to be okay. At OCVJC, we recognize that crime victims can still experience the effects of trauma. For us, the baseline of treating crime victims with dignity, fairness, and respect is to provide trauma responsive legal services. We understand that trauma can affect a victim’s brain, body, and even memory. This is in an effort to prevent re-traumatizing victims of crime, as we work to support and help them on their journey to healing and justice. #InternationalTraumaDay #WeBelieveYou #VictimsRights #OCVJC #VictimsRightsMovement #Trauma #MeToo #YouAreNotAlone

This #NationalStalkingAwarenessWeek we wanted to highlight the importance of our independent stalking advocate caseworkers (ISACs). What is an ISAC? An ISAC is a trained specialist who provides advice and support to anyone who has been the victim of stalking. They help give people the confidence, support and information needed to take control of the situation and move forward. What kind of things can ISACs support with? There’s a variety of support that can be offered either face-to-face, via telephone or online, such as: - Risk assessments and safety planning - Advocacy and challenging decisions made within the criminal justice system - Attending court with victims and supporting them through the process - Liaising with police for regular case updates - Working in partnership with other agencies to aim to reduce risk and improve outcomes for those been impacted by stalking behaviours This list isn't exhaustive, and an ISAC can tailor the support to the individual's needs. If you or anyone you know has been a victim of #stalking, chat to one of our trained supporters. 📞08 08 16 89 111 💻https://lnkd.in/ewmGrYz #JoinForcesAgainstStalking

As we enter the last week of October, Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we wanted to take a moment to recognize and stand by organizations who work tirelessly to end domestic violence and support survivors. 🟣 Recognizing the need and having partnered with several Domestic Violence Victim Assistance (DVVA) programs to provide custom solutions in the past, we are working on developing a standard module for these programs. We're committed to making a difference by providing tools that enhance efficiency and effectiveness in these programs' noble efforts. Read about Domestic Violence Awareness Month and how we are working to #enddomesticviolence at the link in the comments! ⬇️ #DVAM #EmpowerChange #DVVA
