Mistakes people make in their interviews 🤦 For a position that I'm hiring these days, I'm seeing some basic mistakes candidates are making. These are useful for everyone to keep in mind. ➡️ Bitching about the present employer It's a let down when you find candidates spending considerable portion of their interview time poking holes in their present employers ⌛ As a prospective employer, I get a feel they're not really coming towards me, rather they're running away from current company. ➡️ Discussing confidential numbers of the employer 📊 While you definitely want to please the recruiter, it comes at a grave risk to your reputation. ➡️ Showing no energy in the interview 🔋 When you show no excitement about your job, yourself or the opportunity, it's hard to bet on you. ➡️ No basic sense in negotiation for the CTC 💲 People tell me to pay them more because they have high family expenses. Why would that matter to me? Position your value add to seek a hike, not some sob story. ➡️ Not ready for future 📈 If I ask candidates where do they see themselves 4-5 years from now, the answers are so generic, so vague, they're practically useless.
