✨ It’s Employee Appreciation Day! ✨ Over the last year, I’ve been energized by how I see companies showing up for their employees. In the last few weeks in particular, I’ve been chatting with leaders in the employee experience and total rewards spaces, and what I’ve heard has really filled my cup and answered the ‘why’ behind my Monday-Friday. Just this week, Achievers champions have been sharing with me how they’re: ✨ Using Achievers as a "kindness culture channel" (is there anything nicer?) ✨ Helping managers manage better with our recognition platform (what gets recognized gets repeated, at every level!) ✨ Bolstering total rewards programs and EVPs with meaningful recognition as part of an emotional salary strategy ✨ Leveraging our tools to enable ERGs and create moments of education and inclusion ✨ Taking Employee Appreciation Day/Week/Month as an opportunity to say ‘thanks, we see your hard work’ EVERY day. ⁉ Tell me - how does your organization activate appreciation? In the spirit of Employee Appreciation Day, the Pillar team is something I’m grateful for every day. During our February webinar last week, Hebba Youssef mentioned that the biggest mistake companies make when it comes to values is setting them and then never talking about them again. That’s something I pride our team on…living by the values we set when we launched Pillar 3 years ago. So, I wanted to share our values here today. They shape how we grow our team, treat each other, and build our product. 💜 Act with humanity 💜 Communicate often & with openness 💜 Execute with intensity 💜 Be bold 💜 Make it fun And we even have these cool custom emojis to use in Slack when employees want to give each other a shout-out. Today is National Employee Appreciation Day. While it is always great to have a focus on a specific area on any given day, appreciating your employees and peers needs to happen everyday. Showing that you appreciate your employee, peer or team member can be as simple as: 1. Intentionally saying ‘thank you’ in person 2. Reflect on your collective accomplishments and highlight each 3. Publicly thank employees through internal channels 4. Provide free food or snacks 5. Create a space where they can get away from work and take a break. Take the time, today (and everyday) to appreciate the people you work with, and watch how amazing your team flourishes and work ethic increases.
