Our Summer Interns have been busy! They kicked things off with a visit to some of our Marquette vessels in the shipyard this month. Then, they celebrated Intern Day, with an MTC Employee Panel, a professional development workshop centered around DiSC, and bowling! We can’t believe that the summer is almost halfway over. Want to Intern at Marquette next year? Be on the lookout for 2025 Summer Intern Applications opening in the fall! #marquettetransportation

Next up in our Meet the Shoreside Team series are James & James Adams from our Offshore Division. Yes, you read that right—they share the same first and last names! Their history goes back beyond being employed at Marquette. They have been friends since the age of three! To keep them straight around the office, they're known as Big James and Lil James. And to top it all off, they are also both Logistics Managers, playing a crucial role in keeping our vessels operational. Pictured first is James (aka Big James): “I began my role as Logistics Manager with Marquette’s Offshore Division in May of 2012. We manage the daily movements/schedules & charters of the Marquette Offshore fleet and other vessels through our brokerage work. What I like most about my job is the variety of services we provide from dredging to project cargo. In the wide range of services that Marquette Offshore provides, everyday offers new challenges and opportunities to prove ourselves as leaders in the industry. I live in Vacherie, LA with my wife Aimee and two children, Lola and Matthew.” Pictured second is James (aka Lil James or “LJ”): “I began working in the oilfield/marine industry in 2005 with C&D Production Specialist, Inc., starting as an entry-level Production Operator/Logistics Coordinator and leaving in 2014 as an Operations Manager overseeing operations of all offshore production personnel. I joined Marquette’s Offshore Division as a Logistics Manager in September 2017 and currently live in Lockport, LA, with my wife Lisa and our three children, Broc, Avery, and Christian #marquettetransportation #poweredbyOURpeople

Remembering Captain Leonardo "Lenny" Wardlaw: A passionate leader who began his career at Marquette in 2009, leaving behind a legacy of commitment and excellence. Throughout his time here, he impacted countless lives and will be deeply missed. Eight Bells is the traditional way of saying that a sailor's watch is over. The sounding of the ship's bell is well rooted in the history and tradition of the maritime industry. The bell marked time onboard and divided the day into shifts or ‘watches’ for the crew. At the end of the last shift, the end of the last watch, eight bells rang out – Eight Bells and All is Well. A sailor's time for rest. 📸 Jody Acree
