Recently, I heard an inspiring talk about diversity and inclusion 🌍. The speaker impressively highlighted how these themes make us realize that we are all different 🌈. This made me think: how wonderful it would be if we all acted from one fundamental principle – that 𝐰𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐡𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧 🤝. Imagine a world where there is no difference in treatment or approach, where everyone is given the same opportunities, regardless of our current descriptions of differences. Unfortunately, this does not yet reflect our reality. That's why it's essential that we continue to strive for connecting people ❤️. We must commit to those who are treated differently because of our 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐝 differences. ❄ Diversity that lacks genuine inclusion is often called “tokenism.” e.g "Being invited to a party is diversity, whereas being asked to dance is inclusion." ❄ Diversity and inclusion can be confusing and many people are guilty of making mistakes with regards to the use and implementation of the two terms.
