#WhatMattersNow ft. Lalaina Nasinto “This past year has been all about embracing change and treasuring moments. After spending a few years being a stay-at-home mom, I decided I was ready to head back to work. At the same time, our son, who is on the autism spectrum, started full day classes in grade one. These transitions were challenging for my family, but we managed to navigate them together, finding strength and resilience in the process. In the past year, we were also able to take a weekend getaway to Invermere and the kids absolutely loved it! From exploring surrounding lakes and relaxing in hot springs to multiple ice cream stops, the experience was so enjoyable and led us to decide to make it an annual tradition. #WhatMattersNow is the moments of our lives, big and small, which bring us joy and remind us to slow down and embrace the present. In a world constantly urging us to move faster, moments of connection and joy are invaluable.”

As the cool, crisp air of fall begins to settle in, our household is especially thankful for the cozy comforts of the season—football games, warm bowls of soup, and, surprisingly, attic fans. Yes, you read that right—attic fans! For Tommy, the attic fan is the highlight of the season. It’s more than just cooling down the house; the steady hum and airflow bring him a sense of calm and joy. The simple rhythm of the fan is something he looks forward to each year, and it reminds me of the importance of routine and sensory experiences in creating comfort. In our work advocating for autism and disability inclusion, we often focus on the big picture—creating accessible education, employment, and community spaces. But it's just as important to celebrate the little things that bring comfort and peace, whether it’s a favorite activity, sound, or tradition. As we wind down the week, I encourage everyone to take a moment to appreciate those simple pleasures, both for ourselves and for those we love. These small joys can recharge us and remind us why we do the important work we do. Here’s to a season of gratitude, comfort, and inclusion for all. And for Tommy, here’s to the attic fan, the unsung hero of fall! #ThankfulThursday #DisabilityInclusion #AutismAdvocacy #Gratitude #CelebrateTheLittleThings #AutismAwareness #FallFavorites

Imagine you have a giant pot of the most delicious jollof rice ever cooked! Everyone in your family loves it, but you want to share the goodness with the whole neighborhood. Growth marketing is like being the jollof rice "Hilda Baci" of your whole area! Here's how it works: Finding New Eaters: We'd make colorful posters with pictures of your amazing jollof rice and put them up around the neighborhood. We'd even write catchy slogans like "Jollof so good, it'll make you do your happy dance!" Spreading the Aroma: We might even take a pot of your jollof to the local market and let people have a small taste for free. That delicious smell will have everyone asking where they can get more! Sharing the Secret: We'd tell everyone about your special jollof recipe (without giving away all the secrets, of course!). Keeping Them Coming Back: Once your neighbors try your jollof, we'd offer them a special discount on their next big pot! This way, they keep coming back for more deliciousness. Growth marketing is all about making your jollof rice business (or any business!) more successful by attracting new customers with the amazing taste, keeping them hooked with special offers, and making sure everyone knows just how good your jollof is! #HappyChildrensDay

Yep it makes that much of a difference! I know it can be hard when times have been tough but it's worth the effort to "clean your glasses" when it feels like tricky times have covered them in muck and are colouring the way you see your kids and teens, and stopping you from connecting in positive way and enjoying your kids and teens. Stay tuned to find out more about the power of enjoying your kids and how to do it in my latest blog to be released later this week. #kids #teens #relationships #parenting #family

Children are constantly learning and developing both physically and emotionally. Their behavior is a reflection of their environment, experiences, and developmental stage 🤗 Instead of categorizing them as inherently good or bad, it's essential to understand that children's actions reflect their ongoing growth and learning 😊 By offering love, support, and appropriate guidance, we can empower our children to overcome challenges and thrive 😊 #conscious #parenting #awareness #parentingwithintention #parentingwithunderstanding #connection #emotionalbonding #children #parentingcoach #parentingcoachviji #parentingtips #loveparenting #love #loveforparenting

Yes!! My family has reached #victory!!! Collect your winnings when you reach your milestones!! Being patient with the children’s challenges is a WIN. Accepting their stimming is a WIN. Child following just one or a part of an instruction is a WIN. Child learning through play for 2 minutes, 5 minutes is a WIN. Daily living with autism, the small wins is our biggest victories. It doesn’t cross our minds what progress we are making as parents. We don’t see or feel what we do being a proud moment. Taking time just to reflect will give you the chance to see and feel what you have achieved. Allow yourself to accept the experience with your child is very worthy of a celebration. Celebrating your victories, will give you the courage to keep on going to work harder for you and your child. Whether is solely for you or for your child. You will be in a vibrant mood, you will be enjoyable to be around with and if that is all above board, imagine what else you could do? I invite you today, to take a few minutes before you go to bed tonight, to focus on what you have achieved today. Even the tiny winy one’s too. Because these achievements will build your resilience to go to go on. This will build you as a whole family to be stronger and successful!! #victories #wins #smallwins #bigwins #turningpoint #courage #specialmoments #celebration #refelct #experience #autismfamily💙
