The Food Delivery industry is rapidly evolving. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, our industry has seen significant growth over the years. I don't think the Food Delivery industry ever intended to reach a market value of $150 billion in the global economy. Here we are, however, and Food Delivery is here to stay and will continue to be a fixture in the dining landscape. With the increase in competition and regulatory changes evolving as we navigate a post-COVID-19 world, it is becoming clear that Food Delivery apps need to support restaurants more rather than continue to hurt them with their burden of absurdly high overheads. Drivers need to be cared for and appreciated, especially in the economic circumstances Canada finds itself in. Consumers need to be appreciated and provided quality value for spending their hard-earned income on Food Delivery. These large forerunner corporations have uncovered a clear gap in the market but with the current models they continue to use it is also clear their demise is imminent. Hungry Canadian focuses on a more supportive model and while our model is young it has shown tremendous value to all of our customers, partners and delivery teams. The future of Food Delivery is not a clear one but does provide hints as to what is to come the more closely we look at it. With these hints and clues, I am confident the change in the winds that are sure to come will provide a more sustainable and structured mutually beneficial market for the Food & Beverage industry. #fooddeliveryservice #restaurants #fooddeliveryapp McKinsey & Company
