Family office staffing. I'm not sure if it's the time of year or that there has been a tipping point but family offices seem to be hiring. If you're interested in the space, two very storied and interesting offices are seeking finance staff. Alberts and Cambooya Pty Ltd, both based in Sydney. If you look at the job descriptions, the theme is these are not your classic roles where you will be doing the same thing every day. Alberts, for example notes a "diversified investment portfolio, music catalogues, commercial real estate, a venture capital business, and philanthropic endeavours." I often see the finance role within these offices overlap with the investment side, which can be attractive for those looking to broaden their skill set. We are in the process of hiring more bookkeepers at Evolved Finance. One of the questions we ask candidates is โwhat are some of the down sides of working remotely?โ For me, it all comes down to connection. While Evolved Finance does have a great culture, despite being a fully remote team, I canโt help but think about how much stronger our connections would be if we were able to get more face time. Moments like the ones in this picture are priceless and I wish we could have them more often. How often do you get to see the people you work with in person?
