The FY 2025 budget illustrates that Maricopa County is an efficient government. Maricopa County spends less than $1,000 per resident, while some similar-sized counties spend three or four times as much. Another example of efficiency? Maricopa County has a lean and effective workforce, with 3.3 employees per thousand residents, among the lowest ratios in the country. While some other counties are taxing as much as they are allowed under state law, Maricopa County’s tax levy is $257.1 million below the maximum, with tax levy growth under 3% over the past five years. Rich, the service levels are very different. Little example, our, County of San Diego IT is outsourced and costs less per head then Maricopa. Maricopa has no County Fire and EMS, all in special districts, CoSD has large portion of that in General Fund Budget. Be wary of the budget Gods my friend. 😉

Very impressive!!
