Huge increases in property tax bills have become a crisis for many households, especially seniors and those in lower income neighborhoods. The increase is mostly due to a combination of factors, including a historic rise in property tax valuations, school levies, and local levies (but not county-wide levies). Homeowners can seek assistance by contacting Cincinnati-Hamilton County Community Action Agency, Hamilton County Job and Family Services, and Legal Aid Society of Greater Cincinnati. Contact your state legislators and ask what they can do to provide both immediate and long-term relief.
