I am looking forward to attending the FII Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (June 11-13th). The theme is "Invest in Dignity". Under the theme "Invest in Dignity", the FII PRIORITY Rio de Janeiro summit will delve into how investing in the ecological transition, technology and innovation, and social inclusion can build a new world order that prioritizes dignity for all. Ensuring that global citizens’ dignity is nurtured and protected stands as a pivotal global objective and is inextricably intertwined with sustainable development and economic prosperity. FII is one of the premier conferences for private and institutional investors of the highest caliber. What makes it so unique? It is the community it brings together and the insightful closed-door conversations. Most FII events require FII membership, the membership fee is steep but worth it. The good news is, Rio doesn't require membership status so, it is a great way to experience FII in a beautiful country location. However, you are still required to request to attend. The investor families I work with make time to attend FII. The 2023 World Alliance for Low Carbon Cities Forum in Vaasa will emphasize international collaboration in the spirit of the EU missions and accelerate the co-implementation of the twin green & digital transition. Vaasa will host the forum September 19th–21st. Transformative innovation calls for collaboration involving missions, policymakers, innovation agencies, regions, cities, researchers, and industry. The WALCC Forum will bring all these perspectives together to better understand the dynamics of multi-level governance and the means of engaging industry in joint efforts, anchoring the discussions in practical experiences. What is the ICDK-staff looking forward to most in 2024? Yubo Guo: In 2024, I very much look forward to bringing the PerMed project (https://lnkd.in/dcyx98yw) to a successful conclusion with European partners, and then expanding our collaboration with more Danish Life Science companies here in China in China International Import Expo (CIIE). Christian Jonstrup: For 2024, I am looking forward to working on initiatives that focus on sustainability. I see a lot of potential for working together in areas such as the circular economy, urban development, and sustainable agriculture and food. We already have some great initiatives underway, such as being part in the 2024 Shanghai Climate Week which will take place in April. I believe these areas are key for making progress in our sustainability efforts, and I am excited to be a part of this important work. Ariel Yihan Shi: In 2024, I look forward to continue running our two columns we are working on in our Chinese social media to promote innovation and high education of Denmark. One column is ‘Innovation Sharing’. We share innovative Danish practices to attract Chinese interest, such as Elderly Care and sustainable healthcare. The other one is ‘alumni story’. We share stories from Chinese students who have studied or worked in Denmark, to help the public have a channel to learn the authentic life in Denmark from a Chinese perspective. Meeja Neergaard: 2024 kicked off to a good start, with many interesting projects in the pipeline. I hope to continue the development of activities for our ICDK Alumni group, and is especially looking forward to our involvement in the first Shanghai Climate Week in April. Martin Rune Hoxer: I am looking forward to all the exciting new activities we have in store for 2024. ICDK Shanghai will be part of the first Shanghai Climate Week in April, we will launch new programmes with PlugAndPlay – one of the words leading accelerator and investor platforms. This year's World IP Day theme is on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) by the United Nations.
