💡 Do you know what DevRel stands for? It is an abbreviation of Developer Relations, a discipline that is closely related to Developer Experience. While they do not mean exactly the same thing, both share the goal of enhancing developer satisfaction and product adoption, often collaborating closely to align documentation and bridge gaps between engineering and marketing teams. Developer Relations focuses more on building and working with the developer community. It connects a technical product or service with the community of developers who use it. By building a community around the product, DevRel professionals can gather regular insights for product improvement. There isn't enough accountability in developer relations. I have met way too many devrel folks who don't have clear goals and metrics to measure success. These folks are never successful. Learn how to fix this in my LIVE DevRel Kickstart workshop: https://lnkd.in/gJGGTRDs

DevRel Life: It's Not All Smooth Sailing (And That's Okay!) 👋 Fellow developer advocates, let's have a real talk. Being a DevRel (developer relations) pro is awesome... but it's not always sunshine and rainbows. 🤨 Here's the lowdown on some challenges I bet we've all faced: 👇 Balancing Act ⚖ : We're the bridge between our company and the developer community. Sometimes, it feels like walking a tightrope! Metric Mayhem 😕 : Proving the value of our work with numbers can be tricky. We create connections, not just code. How do we measure that? Content Chaos 🤯 : There's SO much to create – blog posts, tutorials, demos, talks. It's hard to keep up and keep it fresh! Time Zone Tango ⏲ : Supporting a global community often means working odd hours to connect with developers across different time zones. But hey, even with these hurdles, I wouldn't trade this job for anything! Building relationships with developers and empowering them is incredibly rewarding. 🙂 🏆 I'd love to hear from you 👂 : What are YOUR biggest DevRel challenges? How do you overcome them? Let's share tips and support each other! #devrel #developeradvocate #techcommunity #developerrelations

Developer Relations has gone through quite a few changes over the last few years. In that vein, some people have found new skills in the ever-evolving world of tech. Along their journey, they moved away from DevRel, but still use those abilities in new ways. So, what is it like when you bounce from DevRel? We'll never forget our first users, especially our first open-source users!!! Two years ago we opened Lago repository on Github: we did not have much to show, I remember our billing API didn't even offer "coupons" :) *However* we attracted our first community members who believed in our vision and started giving us inputs and energy to keep building, having even 1000 Github stars (we're at 6,000 today, the #1 in this field), or having enterprises using Lago was a distant dream (we got there as well!). We've never met Yuliia Butovchenko and Jannik Malte Meissner in-person, until Tuesday at SF Techweek, but it didn't take long for the team to recognize them! Raffi Sarkissian Mathieu Déjean They're building Neuralfinity: if you're interested in the pre-training of custom LLM models, ping them :) We're genuinely super grateful and are planning to double down on our community (we're always hiring!!!) in the near future 😉 Stay tuned! And shout out to our team at Lago, who make sure we provided thoughtful and quick answers to our 1600 members on Slack as well: Jérémy Denquin Toon Willems Brian Vu!!!
