Was the CAVCO duplex built to EPA Energy Star or DoE Zero Energy Ready Manufactured Housing voluntary program standard? Or was it built to the current minimum HUD code MHCSS thermal requirements? The Biden Administration IRA legislation’s 45L provides the HUD code manufacturer with a $2500-$5000 corporate tax break for each Energy Star or Zero Energy Ready MH. These ZER -MH homes are affordable to purchase as well as operate & maintain. The owner/renter typically pays a lower combined mortgage and power bill each month in ZER-MH. Not to mention greater equity/resale value vs. min HUD code MH. https://lnkd.in/euNjrqKK IMHO, rather then buying a HUD-code MH built to 1994 current MHCSS “energy standards”, go ZER-MH!

Thankful that we managed to close this deal off before the end of 2023 with the help of a great team of professionals. This sale was quite the marathon with many lessons learnt on the journey. A key theme would be, don't give up on the deal until it's "dead dead".
