How do you CT scan a fish out of the water? 🌊 It's a race against time with Dr Anwar, Veterinarian, as he performs our very first CT scan procedure with a Bala shark. #FunFact: The Bala shark is not a shark, but a threatened freshwater fish from Southeast Asia. Hi I'm Doctor Anwar, I'm here at River Wonder today to actually pick one fish and ballast shock from the exhibit. Currently having some difficulties in swimming. This is the first time we're doing any CT scan for the fish, so the biggest challenge now is that the city scan is located distance away. For the memos, most of the drugs are given to injecting it, but fish the best way is to do a martial law. So the water goes in, you see, as they move to operculum, right, there's movement or water from the mouth and goes past the gear. We will have to fish transfer out once if the first chilies and justice into this construction here so that we can send it for CT scan. And yeah, the moment we take a fish out of water, it's like we're going under the water. You know, they can't breathe. So we have the chop, chop. So we've done the scan, all the fish. Fortunately, nothing is glaring. There's no abnormalities detected from our check. However, to be on the safe side, we're going to have a second opinion on the case. We will submit the images that we collected today to a specialist radiologist who can actually interpret the scan just to make sure that we did not miss out anything. And in the meantime. We're going to treat this fish hopefully to reduce the swelling and also give some degree of comfort the facial.

It’s been a while since I started my role at Kwagaliza Andrew Investments as a Veterinarian, and I wanted to share this update with everyone. The biggest fear of a VET beginner is doing it alone, especially if your study was more theoretical than practical, but with the little practical I learned from college, I've made it. All in all, regardless of all the shortcomings, I've made it. #veterinarymedicine #girlsinvet

Do you know ❓ Many of my Linkedin contacts are biologists, animal-lovers, veterinary scientists... I have been curious about this question for a while and despite searching on Google I haven't found a clear answer. Google suggests that pigs and goats wag (menear) their tails to communicate that they are happy, but I'd love to know from anyone who knows more about this? 🐖 🐶 🐐 🐘 (elephants were also suggested 😉 ) Please let me know in the comments if you know more information about this. #vets #animalbehavior #curiosity
