“College and post-college can become a jumbled and confusing road. But the structure from Making Waves makes it all possible," shared Abraham Jenkins Segura. A first-gen grad who earned his degree from San Francisco State University this spring, Abraham shared: “All the support from Making Waves makes a difference – the scholarship, the coaching, the financial guidance has all motivated me further.” When Abraham started college, he chose business administration as his major, inspired by his family’s entrepreneurial spirit and their small business in San Francisco.  “I was motivated because of the practicality of a business degree." “But I felt like I was missing something. I really wanted to do more art. That is my passion," shared Abraham who created a plan to marry his two interests with a double major in business and design. "I’ve learned so much about management and design and how I want to pursue both further," Abraham shared. "I was always passionate about art, specifically illustration. It helps me express myself and create pieces that others find value in.” “Making Waves provided me guidance for challenging financial situations and the opportunity to pursue my passions." 🎉🎉 Congratulations, Abraham! We're excited to see where your passions take you next!

I would like to thank the Making Waves team again for everything they have done for me. My journey through that evolving time in my life was not easy but the individuals at Making Waves made it manageable and I feel forever indebted to their altruistic pursuit of higher education to the next generation of struggling students.
