On the back of a very successful event , we are pleased to announce our next thought leadership event. HOW CAN WE ACCELERATE PROGRESS ON DE&I? Our last event was standing room only so I would advise getting booked on quickly! HOW CAN WE ACCELERATE PROGRESS ON DE&I? THURSDAY 2ND MAY 2024 Manchester City Centre 12:00 pm-2:00pm How can we accelerate progress on DE&I while navigating identity politics and political backlash? Data tells us that there is work to be done to create workplace inclusion for all. In our recent DE&I survey 37% of respondents said that they felt the need to hide an aspect of who they are for fear of judgement by others. DE&I expert Caitlin Hartley from FAIRER Consulting will share insights from the Hays DE&I survey and outline practical steps that organisations can implement to maintain and accelerate progress on DE&I. Lunch and refreshments will be provided. For further information or to reserve a place please email [email protected] or contact myself. Here are 10 signs you should attend the DEI summit on Anti Semitism for HR & DEI folks hosted by the UJA-Federation of New York on December 6th. If 2 or more apply to you or your organization, you should probably sign up. 1. You hadn't really thought Jews needed a voice in DEI initiatives 2. It will make some of your DEI core team members uncomfortable to find out you are going 3. You think there are practicing jews among your employees, but they don't seem to mention their observances much 4. It took over a week to issue a statement following October 7th. When you read the statement today, it doesn't really say much of anything. 5. Real quick- Christmas is December 25th, when does Hanukkah start? 6. You wouldn't be surprised if a manager innocently asked an employee, “but you accept Christ as the savior, right?” 7. You wouldn't be surprised if someone told an employee that “holiday observance isn't a good enough reason not to work on something.” 8. You have an employee that keeps kosher and they need to proactively request and then follow up several times to ensure they have a meal at a company event. 9. You were shocked by protests calling for death to the Jews following October 7th. 10. You aren't aware of protests calling for death to the Jews following October 7th. Not all of these experiences are mine, but they are real. https://lnkd.in/dWbkpX6J

Award winners 🤝 Employee spotlight From employee of the month to quarterly sales competitions, if you're not featuring award winners in your #employeeengagement and #employerbrand content, here's why you should: → Award winners are thriving in your culture and represent the type of talent you want more of. → Celebrating award winners acts as #employeerecognition, which can reduce turnover by 31%. → Highlighting winners invites the whole company to join in and engages them in your culture. We love this employee spotlight from Davidson Hospitality Group celebrating Norrone as employee of the year. Watch below! CC: Patricia Davis

Really insightful day at the Diversity in Wholesale Conference 2023 (Women in Wholesale The Federation of Wholesale Distributors) Key takeaways for me: - Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) are a powerful tool to build, execute and evolve your DE&I policies and messaging (and they can never be too big!) - The power of storytelling knows no bounds - When organising a DE&I event, you can never over communicate it - Make sure your initiatives work as well / have the same impact across all sites - It’s all about language! - DE&I should be viewed as business-critical - When it comes to attracting and retaining younger talent, culture is everything. - LIVE your cultural policies - Squiggly careers anyone? Many thanks to Elit Rowland and colleagues for organising such a great event!

Some great insights and practical tips.
Are your planning a holiday-season party at work this year and want to ensure high employee satisfaction? 🎄 ⭐ 🤶 Some evidence-based advice: 1) Make sure the party reflects a positive (human relations oriented) company culture, 2) Celebrate off-site (external location), 3) Organize some fun activities (e.g., games, karaoke), 4) Keep it informal, 5) Incorporate symbolism that links the party with the organization's mission and values (e.g., speech), 6) Provide both non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks, but, 7) Avoid heavy drinking.
