Promote your brand or business by thinking outside the box—like illustrator Candace! If you have seasonal products, promoting what you offer throughout the year is inspired by the month on the calendar. But what if you don't carry seasonal products? Candace is a Pittsburgh-based artist and the creator behind Biscuit the Cat, a cute and mischievous kitten brought to life while Candace was in college. Since then, Candace has found a way to share their creations with the world via social media, including finding success in spotlighting how their work is ideal during any season, any time of the year! From opossums on broomsticks in October to wooden ornaments featuring Biscuit adorning🎄trees in December, Candace is showing how their art is relevant 365 days a year! MakeStickers had the honor of meeting Candace in 2022 and got an inside look at their artistic journey and story as a growing brand. This is by far our favorite design so far! This was a mix of all the design details we have learned over the past 7 years. We love everything that we've done on this project. Fun Story: Releasing the design on Devin's personal Snapchat provided some good info on how the general public thought of this product. We had multiple replies asking where they could get the product. Unfortunately for them, it doesn't exist... I guess it proves that we are really good at product design 🤷♂️ #productdesign #logodesign #funstory #beverage #drink #graphicdesign #graphicdesigner #graphicdesigning

Creative collaborations DO work! Communication is key! The BRIEF should be anything but. Spend the required time to DISCUSS creative ideas between BOTH studios. 👉 FOCUS on the end client's TARGET audience. 👉 ENSURE your images invoke DESIRE and make them want to DISCOVER more? 👉 Create a MOOD BOARD to be approved by the end client. 👉 Create a MASTER file, for client approval. This acts as THE guide for the rest of the images in the campaign. 👉 MAINTAIN regular dialogue between the studios throughout the project. 👉 Set aside time for a DEBRIEF on project completion. How I worked on my creative block. Two days ago a friend of mine, a designer hit me up and asked to cook something up for his brand I accepted the terms for the project. But something happened along the line, I had a creative block for about like 1day plus, it was so heartbreaking that I didn't know how to go about it. I could be on my system for 4hrs and have nothing to do, just staring at the screens without direction or knowing what to do. I had to start looking for what to blame for the whole situation, but couldn't place my hand on anything that caused it. How this cleared is something I can't pinpoint at the moment but I did a series of things to get myself on track again. Thanks like 1. Consumed Pinterest and creating mood boards 2. Played video games 3. Watched YouTube channels on design 4. Called my friends and family to know if anything is wrong with them (I did that oo 😂) 5. Prayed 6. Had to start from somewhere at last. After all these things, nothing changed but I had to tell myself that I had to work on this thing or nothing and I started from somewhere, like generating content for the project, importing the footage organizing them inside After Effects and somehow it began to flow. That's how I came up with what you're seeing below 👇, it was a battle for me but I believe I conquered it. If you read this till this moment, I don't know if I provided a solution but I gave you a list of things you can do when you're having a creative block. What's a marketing hill you're willing to die on? ⛰️ Comic Sans doesn't bring anything to a brand or design. EVER. Imagine your favorite brands using the font 👇 Comic Sans is a font with goofy characters, originally designed for informal, casual material - like a comic. Over the years, people started using it in contexts it wasn't intended for. Company vans, store signs, formal documents, ... it's everywhere! People perceive typefaces as having distinct personalities, and they're able to drill these down to precise traits which they associate with your brand. Comic Sans results in so many mismatches — an informal, childlike, 'funny' typeface for what could have been a potentially unique and serious brand. #branding #fonts #marketing #design

Cross pollination/Multitask It takes what it takes. If I am to multitask---my visuals can too. To illustrate: Here’s “BRUTUS” my Chevy G/10 from 669’s “Respect the Van” series. He was re-dressed and branded for another group’s application. “WHY?” They were looking for something different, yet they needed wiggle room within the budget. To accommodate those efforts, I offered up one of the RTV vans to play assist. No creating from scratch—the boat (in this case a van) was already built! Multitask/Cross pollination is not a water-down---- It’s stepping UP and stepping into possibilities and opportunities. In business, wiggle room and redirect are vital. Afterall, it’s more than a van in a visual—it’s a “team player” and a visual that will speak to their avatar audience. It also hit a price point that was favorable for all involved. That’s a WIN. You’d be amazed how many different scenarios happen within the studio. Every project has its own needs, and no request is (EVER) off the table. You don’t know unless you ask! ----------- I’m Scott Fisk---from Studio 669, I create visuals that knock DOWN the doors of “normal”, making YOUR audience scream for more. DM me “Go Time” -Let’s discuss getting YOUR brand next level. It’s a (FREE) no obligation conversation. 💥 If you enjoyed this post, give me a follow! And I’ll drop cool into your feed on the daily. That's a promise. #designwork #branding #strategy
