This June, I reread an article I wrote last year. Unfortunately, we’ve seen MORE legislative harm and attacks on the LGBTQ community over the passing year. It reminded me that the structures we create (in any environment) produce behaviors that serve that structure. As business leaders, we must be very intentional about the structures we create. Are we promoting inclusivity and acceptance? Or are we creating an environment that allows for or excuses exclusivity? The private sector can be a powerful channel to demonstrate what we stand for and demand when legislation fails us. 🏳️🌈 https://lnkd.in/eCTpyYvz
At COLAB, we kicked off Pride Month, celebrating the importance of acceptance and equality for all members of the LGBTQ community. Authenticity, one of our core values, reflects our commitment to embracing the true, multi-faceted self each of us has. We want everyone to feel comfortable showing up every day as their authentic selves, whether you work at or with COLAB. Last year, we wrote about the importance of inclusivity at COLAB. If you missed it, here it is: https://bit.ly/4caAv7Q We strongly encourage you to attend a pride event near you. It's a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our beautiful differences and show your support for the LGBTQ community. Happy Pride Month! 🏳️🌈❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🖤 #Pride #PrideMonth #DEI #Diversity #Inclusion

Pride Month 🌈❤️ Did you know, LGBTQ young people are twice as likely to experience loneliness compared to their non-LGBTQ peers (Just Like Us, 2021)? Following various COVID lockdowns, the Return to Play initiative encouraged many return to sports, however it was said that LGBTQ young people, still faced various barriers in returning. Physical group activities are effective in combating loneliness by reducing isolation and fostering meaningful social interactions (ukactive, 2018). We have been working on various projects over the last couple of years, to try and break down barriers that LGBTQ young people face in volleyball. This effort aims to reduce stigma, combat social isolation, and increase inclusivity within Volleyball and beyond, encouraging sports communities to prioritize and address loneliness ❤️ #LGBTQ #PrideMonth #Inclusive #Volleyball #VEF #VolleyballEnglandFoundation

Our LGBTQ community continues to face profound inequality, a reality recently underscored by the Human Rights Campaign’s (HRC) issuance of a National State of Emergency for all LGBTQ Americans. This proclamation serves as a sobering reminder that our fight for genuine equality is far from over. GGBA is at the forefront, advocating for legislation that safeguards LGBTQ rights. But that's not all. We've also stepped up our educational initiatives, working tirelessly to foster understanding and acceptance of the LGBTQ community among all. Whether you are an entrepreneur seeking resources, a business leader looking to build a more inclusive organization, or an ally yearning to make a difference, the GGBA welcomes you to join us. Because together, we are stronger, and together, we'll make a difference. 💪🏳️🌈 #StrongerTogether Join now 👉 https://loom.ly/r-81H4U #GGBA #EqualityNow #Elevating Equality #JoinGGBA #EqualityMatters #GGBAforChange #LGBTQ

Welcome to 2024! Our founder Joshua Hobson has written a letter to the community to summarise the current state of LGBTQ rights in the UK and across the world, and where we see Ecommerce Pride in relation to this. Read more: http://bit.ly/3vKPFR6 As we stand on the threshold of 2024, we find it necessary to reflect upon the current state of LGBTQ rights both domestically and globally, and how these have impacted the first year of Ecommerce Pride’s run. Our objectives - fostering a vibrant LGBTQ ecommerce community, offering valuable resources to brands and companies, and supporting local and national LGBTQ charities - remain pivotal. These objectives are not just aspirations; they're our collective responsibility. Read more: http://bit.ly/3vKPFR6 #lgbt #lgbtq #ecommerce #retail

In a world where inclusivity, equity, and belonging should be the cornerstones of our society, the journey towards achieving these ideals can be as enlightening as it is challenging. Recently, we had the privilege of hosting a keynote speaker panel with Kelley Robinson that delved deep into the critical aspects of LGBTQ rights and inclusion, an endeavor that is shaping the very fabric of our world. Through conversation, Lisette Arsuaga and Kelley Robinson, covered the importance of encapsulating community and security under the umbrella of intersectionality, especially for the LGBTQ community. As discussed, it is clear that recognizing intersections of identities helps us address the unique challenges faced by LGBTQ individuals of color, transgender individuals, and those from marginalized communities. By embracing the principles of security, solidarity, and intersectionality, we can forge a path toward a more equitable and inclusive society, where LGBTQ rights are not just protected but celebrated as an integral part of our shared human experience. Thank you to Kelley Robinson, the president of Human Rights Campaign, for sharing the valuable insights and recommendations during the keynote speaker panel at the 2023 July Member Forum. #SeeALL **AIMM Members can rewatch the full session on the AIMM Hub or by signing into the event portal**

This #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth, we’re highlighting the voices of LGBTQ youth — they’re the experts on who they are and what they need to thrive! 🏳️🌈 When lawmakers target LGBTQ rights, our youth feel the sting, a weight no one should have to bear. Every young person deserves a nurturing environment to grow, free from fear or discrimination. It’s time to prioritize our collective mental health and ensure every individual has what they need to flourish! Here are a few ways we can all show our support for LGBTQ youth according to The Trevor Project’s 2024 U.S. National Survey. 🌱 Check out The Trevor Project's full survey at trvr.org/survey-2024 🔗 #LGBTQ #MentalHealthAwareness #MentalHealth

Passionate Advocate for Financial Empowerment | Dedicated to Uplifting Underserved Communities and Individuals |Spirit aligned in redefining purpose to make life changing impacts
Be an ally. Be Kind. We ALL have one thing in common, we are all human beings first. Yet, so many different people continue to experience discrimination for a multitude of reasons. Financial wellness in the LBGTQ community face unique challenges and setbacks-- we all deserve to have access to financial products and services in an equitable environment. The 2024 LGBTQ Financial Wellness Report's key findings are a rude awakening that there is much work to be done for better financial inclusion. *Roughly half (48.15) of LGBTQ adults say they are financially unwell, compared to one-quarter (25.7%) of the general public. Both BIPOC and younger (age 18-24) LGBTQ adults are even more likely to say they are financially unwell. *Three in ten (30.8%) LGBTQ adults say they have experienced discrimination while accessing financial services *Roughly half (48.15) of LGBTQ adults say they are financially unwell, compared to one-quarter (25.7%) of the general public. *Nearly 60% (59.7%) of LGTBQ adults have annual household incomes below $75,000. "The data underscore the need for our economic empowerment programs, especially for younger BIPOC LGBTQ folks. I hope the data are a call to action for organizations serving our community. Given what we know about who is struggling the most, these organizations have an opportunity to center BIPOC young adults by being culturally responsive, trauma informed, and offering voice and choice to young people.” Maruka Rivers, Director of Economic Empowerment Programs at the Human Rights Campaign Foundation How is your credit union being an ally? If not, reach out and get involved.
