Therefore its BILSTEIN pushrod suspension is being further developed on our state-of-the-art 7-post test bench with just one goal: maximum performance. thyssenkrupp BILSTEIN’s 7-post rig, located right next to the legendary Nürburgring, uses seven hydraulic actuators to simulate vehicle and wheel movements and even the influences of aerodynamics on the suspension on virtual (race) tracks. However, these #vehicles often come with a downside - their #weight. In order to maintain their #speed and agility, it is important to keep their weight down. In this case study, we will explore how #TGM's holistic #lightweighting approach can be used to #reduce the #weight of #sportscars during the #early #development #phase. TGM's Approach: TGM's #holistic #lightweighting approach considers system, #structure, and #material #lightweighting #effects to identify #weight #saving opportunities. Through a special #screening process, TGM has found more than 180 #weight #saving opportunities on the whole car. By analyzing each component in detail, TGM has identified #primary and #secondary #weight #saving effects, leading to #synergies that generate additional weight savings. Results: Through #TGM's approach, sportscars were able to achieve a weight reduction of about 5% of #curb #weight while still keeping the overall #lightweighting costs constant. 🚗💡 Excited to share a project I worked on with my colleagues, MOUMEN ZAKARIA, AFELLAIGHIR MOUAD ,CHOUGRAN OSSAMA , tackling a critical challenge in high-speed driving and racing – optimizing car performance while cornering. We all know that losing grip on the inner wheel can seriously reduce speed and performance. Inspired by Zenvo's innovative solution with the TSR-S car, which features a tiltable wing to direct force to the needed wheel and enhance braking, we set out to create a universal solution. Our goal: design a wing with similar functionality that can be integrated into any car. The recent generations of the prolific sports car is unquestionably faster and more clinical, but there's just something scintillating about BMW's final naturally-aspirated M3, with its great V8 displacing 4 litres to make 414 hp and playing some of the best sounds known to mankind. The E92 M3 has already been out of production for a decade (wow talk about feeling old) but its overall design has aged wonderfully, and of course, some of the aesthetics are worse for wear. Astra GSI Clean older GSi models , particularly well looked after examples of the Astra F and G generations, have become in demand by collectors and fans of hot hatches. The nostalgia factor with 1990s and early 2000s cars add to their desirability to fans of the 90's classic especially those as clean as the one pictured. The initial Astra GSi came with a 2.0-liter 8-valve engine, producing 115 hp. Later models had a more powerful 2.0-liter 16-valve engine, delivering up to 150 hp. It had sporty suspension setup, body kit, and improved interior features compared to the standard Astra. It had sports seats, a leather steering wheel, and an upgraded instrument panel. The later generation had a 2.0-liter 16-valve engine with around 136 hp, and a turbocharged version with 190 hp. #90's #classic #GSI (image from Facebook)
