We are thrilled to launch Maersk Offshore Wind, a new company to accelerate the deployment of #OffshoreWind. With a new and pioneering Wind Installation Vessel concept – the #MaerskWIV - Maersk Offshore Wind provides high-efficiency turbine installation services to the global offshore wind market. The concept has been specifically designed to reduce the number of days required to install a wind farm, paving a faster route to power and revenue generation. 3wProvided vessels risks (offshore spread of vessels) are reduced overall by this concept on offshore wind, it sounds great to reduce also the number of days of installation! If this concept can also reduce the vessels risk in CAPEX contracts on JUV risks, this is great. If the risks of jack up/jack down (trapped legs in mud, break down of vessel and delay of vessel) is the same - then “financial engineering” is the same - and risk contingency is the same on both CAPEX and OPEX contracts (only efffected by the alleged, reduced installation time). This concept is then only differentiating on reduced number of days of installation (compared to what?)! Would be great to hear from Mærsk how thoughts are on the above? Kind Regards Peter
