Friends - this looks like a wonderful opportunity for young people aged 14 - 25 year olds who feel currently underrepresented in the design and creative worlds* to speak with new creative professionals from the fields of product design, graphic design, art direction, curation, architecture, digital design, tech and much more! They can learn about what jobs are really like, how to get there, and maybe learn about a role they didn't even know existed. Booking is easy and can be accessed here. Or you can copy and paste this link: https://lnkd.in/eshpQbeW We still have spots left, so don’t miss out. I've asked about accessibility - and here's what they said: "At the moment, the Design Museum is accessible for wheelchair users/motorised chair users, and has an accessible toilet on every floor. We sadly don’t have a changing spaces toilet on site – Westfield, or the Science Museum are the closest. For accessibility of the event, we have staff who are autism aware and DBS checked, and can offer assistance on navigating the spaces as well as providing a visual story. We have space for young people to bring a support person with them if that is more comfortable. We do not currently have a BSL interpreter, however if you know you have some BSL users coming along, I would be happy to book one. In December, I will be running another networking session, which will have BSL interpreters. If young people are interested and want to chat a bit more about the elements that would support their comfort and accessibility, they/ a trusted adult can email [email protected] (we use this email address for all young people correspondence)." Please do share to widen awareness of this exciting event. *This includes but is not exclusive to; young people of colour, those with a disability or neurodivergence, those who are (or have) accessed free school meals or pupil premium, young carers, those who are care experienced, or those who identify with a marginalised group or identity.

Effective brand extension that combines solid strategy, crafted creative, and a results-driven approach that develops licensing relationships and delights your fans.
Rolling onto the next stop of the Skew roadshow in Brum for Spring Fair & Autumn Fair next week. Why bother attending if we’re not signing any deals? Here’s why... Skew’s mission is to deliver effective creative. That means we can’t just hand over work and wave goodbye without constantly learning from every project. By the time we're ready to deliver our creative work, our team has the most expertise in that brand at that moment in the world. It’s crazy to let that knowledge just walk away. So, our most effective work comes when we’re sticking around to see the implementation, iterate, and build on what we’ve done to help the deals get made. For us, Spring Fair is an opportunity to talk to the people on the front line. Designers and product developers that have put our work to use in their ranges. If we're only creating pretty pictures without ensuring their effectiveness, we're missing our mark. They may please people in the moment (that is important too), but who knows if they provide a return? We go there for feedback on what works, what doesn’t, and what the reaction is from the market. We put what we learn into the next project and the next. It’s great to catch up with old friends too. This year, Felicity Blades is drawing on her time as a buyer at Primark to reconnect with licensees and bring back insight into our work. If you’re going to be there, let us know. Give us a 👋 in the comments or DM me or Felicity, and we’ll see you there. #licensing #brandidentity

Fantastic morning back @MTU Cork School of Music delivering a Career Mapping for Creatives session with graduates looking at how we create more fulfilling & sustainable careers in the arts. "I 100% believe that my outlook for my career has changed." Things that we agreed made a difference from the session included: *Recognising that our careers aren't linear. *Knowing how to create a structure of work that supports your career. *Considering career outlook in a more expansive way that opens up more possibilities not previously considered. *Identifying how struggles lead to opportunities. *Placing a higher value on connections and how we nurture them. *Taking more risks. *Making more plans and analysing options. Career Mapping is less about following perceived wisdom or general industry advice without question. It's about identifying our innate abilities, strengths, strategies and using them to craft a uniquely fulfilling pathway through an industry that's constantly changing. www.boundlesscareers.com #CreativeCareers #ArtistDevelopment #creativeindustries

Yesterday, I had the privilege of attending Bright Network’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging event. The speakers and panellists shared their experiences and insights, highlighting the challenges that can be faced when entering the workforce. It was an eye-opening experience, finding out just how much the odds can be stacked against you without you even realising it when you join the workforce. I feel grateful to have gained such valuable knowledge. The advice and wisdom shared by these incredible individuals has given me the tools to navigate this daunting part of life. As the saying goes, “Give a man a fish, you’ll feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you’ll feed him for a lifetime”. I know I will hold onto these learnings for a very long time. During the event, I also had the opportunity to network with representatives from companies such as BT Group, frog/Capgemini Invent, AIG, NBCUniversal and TJX Europe. These companies have pathways for young talent like myself to develop and thrive, and I am excited to apply for roles with them in the coming weeks and months. Thank you, once again, to Bright Network, for holding such an important event and facilitating opportunities for the next generation. We are incredibly grateful for the chance to learn, grow and connect. PS: The single photo in this post doesn’t do the event justice, so head over to Bright Network’s social media or the hashtag below to see what others thought about the event. #brightnetwork #diversityequityinclusion #networking #people #culture #opportunities

Our Sheetz Internz get real, hands-on experience that helps them develop new skillz and strengthen their knowledge. Just ask Belle, our Strategic Research Intern! 👋 "I am currently working on three different projects for the Strategic Research team. The first one is a sustainability survey for all corporate Sheetz employees; the goal of this research is to gain feedback to improve our current sustainability practices. I am also working on a food and beverage promotional sign kit survey, which was sent to 300 store managers to gain insight and make revisions on the sign printing, delivery, and installation process. Lastly, I am doing in-person interviews with Sheetz employees who own electric vehicles to document and understand the full charging experience at a Sheetz location, and to identify gaps in the consumer experience. On top of this work, I am creating a periphery infographic weekly, which is sent to Directors, the Business Insights team, the Planning team, and more. The experience and insight that I have learned throughout my time so far with Sheetz is invaluable. I have gained more experience conducting and analyzing both quantitative and qualitative research in a professional setting. This was such a rewarding opportunity to see how the research I managed was able to answer questions for other departments. I have also had the opportunity to meet with other departments to gain exposure to other parts of the company." #NationalInternDay

Masjien will be at Love Tomorrow Conference 2024 Love Tomorrow! 🎉 Prepare to explore the intersection of consciousness, innovation and entertainment as passionate people share their visions for a better, bolder, sustainable future on July 25. Never thought our own Jasmien would be on an actual Tomorrowland stage - not dancing or singing that is 😉 - holy grounds of De Schorre, here we come. 🎤 A festival is the representation of a small town. Next to music and dancing, there’s food, drinks and… garments. When talking about Tomorrowland’s impact, we need to look at every aspect of it. In this talk, we’ll delve into the urgent need for transformation within the fashion industry. We’ll ask (and maybe answer…) some key questions: Why is fashion so impactful? Why is it so hard to create change? And what can we do to make a difference?. From inspiring keynote speeches to electrifying DJ sets, live acts, and a job fair, this is a day you won't want to miss. 👯 Hyped to be part of an amazing line-up, including Boyan Slat, Rutger Bregman, Mauro Pawlowski, Dirk De Wachter, Average Rob, Inge Neven, William Boeva, Stefaan Vandist, Tom Duhoux and many more. Looking forward to going into conversation with Debbie Van Dijck, Joris Beckers & Balázs Németh. 👉 Secure your spot via the link: https://lnkd.in/eyG7ihdR #lovetomorrow2024 #keynote #panel #sustainability #innovation #sustainablefashion #lovetomorrow
