I read the annual report of the Greater Zurich Area (GZA) so you don't have to. Key takeaways: - GZA focuses on attracting companies in knowledge-intensive fields, especially Life Sciences, Advanced Manufacturing, ICT, Fintech, FoodTech and Robotics. - In 2023, 89 new international companies set up shop in the area. That's 20 less than in 2022. The majority comes from other European countries. - Some highlights: A foundation combating fake news (ipie.info), high-tech cameras (SHOTOVER Systems), Californian biotech Cytokinetics, Canadian space tech company QSTC, AI-powered FinCrime fighters Quantexa, Chinese listed cosmetical product company Imeik Technology Dev. and of course the AI institute of Boston Dynamics. - There are also more updates on innovation projects and the AI ecosystem in the report.
