Attending ESCI in Barcelona?  Come learn from our Acutelines collaborators, who for the first time, will present clinical performance results from our TriVerity test using TriVerity Cartridges and the Myrna Instrument at a major scientific meeting. The e-poster session is on Thursday, June 6 from 4-5 pm (CEST). While numerous studies have previously described the robust performance of our TriVerity classifiers, this is the first study in which the TriVerity classifiers are applied to patient samples collected and tested with TriVerity Cartridges on our Myrna Instrument.  Congrats to Jingly Lu (presenter) and all the authors: Natalie N. Biofilms have taken centre stage this week in life sciences. #BiofilmWeek is part of World AMR Awareness week (#WAAW) and has showcased the impact of biofilms on all aspects of life. At Biophys, we also put biofilms in the spotlight this month, with Michael Graz presenting the biofilm-disrupting effect of #Disperazol on chronic Pseudomonas aeruginosa infections at #NACFC2023. #Disperazol is a robust and high-potential non-traditional approach that holds potential to reduce #AMR for people with chronic Pseudomonas aeruginosa biofilm infections, to improve health and wellbeing and to reduce biofilm-related healthcare costs. 🔵From June 17th to 19th, 𝗣𝗛𝗔 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 Eva Otter, as a representative of PH Austria, took part in the International Respiratory Coalition (IRC) congress in Amsterdam, together with Johann Hochreiter, a representative of the sarcoidosis group, Dr. Vasile Foris, MUG Graz, and senior physician Dr. David Lang from the University Hospital Linz. 🔵Eva acted as Co-Chair in one of the 6 sessions alongside Prof. Dr. Guy Joos, who is the Chair of the IRC Operational Committee. The first National Coalition for lung health in Austria was founded in Amsterdam, and three projects have been named as examples of how we would like to take care of the public’s lung health: 🔹Awareness and standardization of genetic testing for familial/genetically determined lung diseases 🔹Vaccine awareness for lung diseases 🔹CT screening for lung diseases (lung cancer possibly also ILD etc.) However, all of these projects are still in the early stages. Genetics is at the forefront of advancing our knowledge and understanding about how we can help our patients more personally. This sickle cell test is great news for sufferers going forward. Pharmacogenomics (PGx) is about to impact the NHS as well. While the mechanisms for this are still being developed, mantara.co can offer a PGx test now via a simple saliva test, based on the Prepare study and fully registered with the MHRA. Genetics is also impacting cancer care now, with so much more to come. AI is going to influence how we can use genetic data so much more quickly: bring it on!
