🚨 New publication co-authored by Lygature: "Sharing sensitive data in life sciences: An overview of centralised and federated approaches," published in Oxford Journals Briefings in #Bioinformatics The paper is the outcome of a workshop organised by Lygature under the EOSC-Life project. Commenting on the new publication, Lygature Program Manager and co-author, Jan-Willem Boiten said: "Central repositories for data sharing in European research face challenges, especially with sensitive health data. Federated approaches, where data remains at the source, are increasingly preferred. Our paper discusses the key considerations for choosing between central, federated, or hybrid data storage strategies for large-scale European collaborations." 📖 Read the paper here 👉 https://lnkd.in/d5NbeXfM ECRIN (European Clinical Research Infrastructure Network), BBMRI-ERIC, EATRIS, ERINHA, Istituto Mario Negri, Health Data Hub, European Bioinformatics Institute | EMBL-EBI, EBRAINS, eCREAM, ISIDORe, Ilse Custers, Rick van Nuland

Project Associate 1 at Thukral Lab CSIR-IGIB | Research Associate at N.E.T.A institute | Founder at H.B Energetica
Attended Prof. Morten Meldal's Inspiring Talk at CSIR-IGIB! Hello LinkedIn community, I am thrilled to share that I had the opportunity to attend a captivating talk by the esteemed Professor Morten Meldal (Nobel laureate in Chemistry 2022) at CSIR-IGIB on February 2, 2024. As a Structural Bioinformatician, I found immense inspiration in Prof. Meldal's groundbreaking work, particularly his contributions to the CuACC click reaction and the incorporation of molecular dynamics simulations in his recent projects. Prof. Morten Meldal 's expertise in the CuACC click reaction, a powerful tool for bioconjugation, opens up exciting possibilities in biology. The precision and efficiency of this reaction have far-reaching implications for studying molecular interactions, and beyond. Furthermore, his incorporation of molecular dynamics simulations in recent research is particularly intriguing. The ability to observe and analyze the dynamic behaviour of biomolecules at the atomic level provides invaluable insights for someone like me, working in the realm of structural bioinformatics. It enhances our understanding of biological systems and paves the way for designing targeted experiments and interventions. I am grateful for the opportunity to gain deeper insights into these methodologies and their applications during Prof. Meldal's talk. This event was a remarkable opportunity for knowledge exchange and networking. Kudos to CSIR-IGIB for hosting such impactful sessions, and a big thanks to Prof. Meldal for sharing his expertise! #StructuralBioinformatics #CuACCClickReaction #MolecularDynamics #CSIRIGIB #Bioinformatics #ScienceTalks #ResearchInnovation

Last week the preprint of the Rapamycin bioavailability study was published and it was a very interesting paper which took a first look at the difference between bioavailability between generic and compounded Rapamycin. A rough summary is that around 5 mg of generic Rapamycin seems to be equal to 15 mg compounded. We know from different studies that Rapamycin blood levels differ between individuals and this study is also aligned with that. This is one reason for measuring Rapamycin blood levels. One very interesting next step in research would be to try to find the Rapamycin blood levels which are commonly associated with beneficial effects but also side effects. In the comment section you can find a link to a recent webinar where the science team from AgelessRx go through the paper. It was an honor to help out and be a co-author of this paper! Really great work by Sajad Zalzala M.D., Girish Harinath and the rest of the AgelessRx team in conducting this study! If you or someone else needs help with other papers around Rapamycin or setting up a trial or something else in the area feel free to contact me and I will try to help out as much as I can.
