According to American Cancer Society’s Cancer Facts & Figures 2023, pancreatic cancer has a 5-year combined overall survival rate of 12% (Stages I-IV) and is on track to be the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths before 2030. The RenovoRx mission is to transform the current standard of care for patients diagnosed with #pancreaticcancer. Our proprietary TAMP™ therapy platform is designed to ensure precise therapeutic delivery to directly target the tumor while potentially minimizing a therapy’s toxicities versus systemic intravenous (IV) therapy. Phase III interim analysis data presented at ESMO GI 2023 showed a trend towards improved overall survival benefit and a noticeable reduction in adverse events versus the standard of care in #LocallyAdvancedPancreaticCancer. Given how sensitive we are now to all things breast cancer, this article caught my eye. Statisticians, please help us out to make sure we are understanding this correctly: -Massive study using Epic database: 243 million patient records from 1400 hospitals, 32,500 clinics, 50 states and including Lebanon. -Covers 5 years after initial diagnosis of breast cancer in women ages 50-84. -Risk for Lung cancer diagnosis more than quadruples after chemo, nearly triples after radiation, and almost doubles after endocrine. But numbers are still small in absolute terms because the base risk appears to be about 1% so that we are really adding just 1 lung cancer per 100 when patients are treated with radiation. Do I have this right? PS: Mentions increased lung cancer screening indicated. Current recommendation is low-dose CT scan, perhaps yearly. #breastcancer #lungcancer #chemotherapy #radiationtreatment #risk #prevention #Epic #women #tamoxifen #immunotherapy
