Discover The Italian Way, an intensive week organised by Manuela Balli and characterised by company testimonials, presentations and professional encounters with key industry figures that showcase the unique Italian approach to marketing and communication. As highlighted by Giuseppe Stigliano and Lucio Lamberti, co-directors of the International Master in Media and Communication Management, learning would be incomplete without an active engagement with companies. In this year's edition, we posed some insightful questions to two top managers about the core values of their companies and the characteristics they look for in candidates. This is a great example of the impact of creating a dedicated space for early talent, with the ability for two-way interactions with mentors and self-led exploration of the company - it builds a strong emotional connection between talent and employer. "Being able to connect with mentors has allowed me to have a more in-depth view regarding what I need to do to get to where I want to be, which has proved to be invaluable in opening my mind to the potential scholarships and opportunities there are to enrich and further my career preparation. The “opportunities” part of the platform is very accessible and great for keeping you up to date with what is going on and the potential opportunities available to you. The modules provide you with a general overview into the morals and stance British Airways has as a company, as well as advice and guidance. "Imagine stepping onto a plane, Clueless about where the buttons are, Let alone how to navigate turbulence. That's how I felt entering the travel industry, fresh-faced and wide-eyed. Amadeus was my flight school, And let me tell you, the instructors were rockstars. They didn't just hand me a manual and point to the cockpit; They strapped me in, explained every gauge, And even let me take the joystick for a spin (with a watchful eye, of course). Remember that first time you aced a presentation, Or cracked a complex client issue? At Amadeus , those victories were high-fives all around. My mentors weren't just there to point out flaws; They celebrated every baby step, Fueling my confidence with every "well done" And "that's exactly what I was thinking!" I had mentors like JOKE ADEYEMI But it wasn't all sunshine and lollipops. They pushed me outside my comfort zone, Like that time I had to present to the company General Manager, Yann Gilbert (My palms still sweat at the memory!). But guess what? I nailed it. And that "I-can-do-anything" feeling? That's a souvenir I still carry with me today. Of course, no mentorship is perfect. Sometimes, the lessons were tough cookies But yes, that's how you build resilience, right? Like learning to land a plane in crosswinds – Bumpy, but you come out a smoother pilot. 🌍✨ Exploring Gambia: A Journey of Learning and Growth with Austrian Airlines AIRcelerate Program ✨🌍 Over a transformative 6-week period, two groups of 3 Austrian Airlines dual studentes embarked on a profound volunteering expedition in the heart of Gambia as part of the AIRcelerate Program. Their mission was multifaceted: to engage in cultural exchange, impart fundamental business skills, and foster personal development through stepping beyond comfort zones. What ensued was a testament to the power of collaboration and immersion. They shared insights on entrepreneurship and business planning while soaking in the rich tapestry of Gambian culture. Each challenge they encountered became a catalyst for growth, strengthening their adaptability and resilience. They cultivated deeper understandings of intercultural cooperation and formed enduring friendships that transcended borders. In hindsight, they realized that their journey to teach had transformed into a profound lesson in learning. Gambia's warmth, resilience, and cultural richness left an indelible mark on their professional and personal lives. Also, for the local trainees the impact was palpable. Through the dedicated efforts of the volunteers, they gained valuable insights and skills that will shape their futures. Beyond business knowledge, the exchange sparked aspirations, instilled confidence, and cultivated enduring friendships. Over the last years the volunteering cooperation between the trainingcenter in Ballingho, Austrian Airlines and help alliance has become a cornerstone of empowerment and collaboration, with each year building upon the last.
