Results are in! Earlier this month, we surveyed our cabin crew community about the #shift system they find easiest to follow. See if you agree with the following order: 1.       Fixed Roster System – 65% This system schedules the cabin crew for a fixed set of working days and times each month, offering a predictable work schedule that allows for better planning of personal activities. 2.       Roster Bid – 23% This system lets cabin crew bid for preferred shifts and flights. While not guaranteed, it offers some control over schedules, with longer-serving members having a better chance of getting their preferred flights.   3.       Pairing System – 10% In this system, flights are grouped into pairs (an outward and return flight) spanning one to five days, starting and finishing at the same airport. Crew members work together for the duration of the pairing and receive time off afterward. 4.       Reserve System – 3% This system requires cabin crew to be on standby to cover colleagues or help handle last-minute flight changes. Reserve crew on "home standby" must be ready to report to the airport within a few hours, often preparing at home for quick departure. As the aviation industry continues to evolve and adapt to the modern world, airlines might adopt new shift patterns that offer more #flexibility and better work-life balance.
