Wizz Air launched 20 years ago, initially to serve the under-penetrated but fast-growing economies of Eastern Europe. The timing coincided with key markets such as #Hungary, #Poland, #Latvia and #Lithuania joining the #EuropeanUnion.
Since then, the airline has grown rapidly to become Europe’s 3rd largest LCC, operating over 200 Airbus Aircraft, with more than 300 on order. It now operates from multiple bases across Europe and beyond, expanding to new geographies with four airlines: Wizz Air Hungary, Wizz Air UK, Wizz Air Malta and Wizz Air Abu Dhabi in the Middle East.
