As we celebrate #ImmigrantHeritageMonth, we stand with immigrants and recognize their invaluable contributions to our society. Our #diversity is our strength, and we honor the courage and determination of those who have journeyed from afar to make a new home. "America was built by immigrants. Immigrants bring a richness that is invaluable to our nation's success." — Nydia Velázquez LTC started over 30 years ago to serve the Immigrant and Refugee community and 30 years later, our mission stays strong and as important as ever. Let's continue to embrace and support our immigrant communities, fostering a culture of inclusion and respect. #SupportImmigrants #LTCLanguageSolutions

A Theory of Change model is a comprehensive methodology used to map out the steps necessary to achieve a long-term goal. It involves identifying the desired outcomes, the interventions required to achieve those outcomes, and the assumptions underlying the connections between activities and results. The model is iterative and flexible, allowing organisations to adapt their strategies based on ongoing learning and feedback. At HOST, our Theory of Change model guides our work with former refugees and migrants. Our vision is a world where these individuals are welcomed and empowered. Our practical and advocacy efforts aim to influence policies for refugee rights, while capacity-building enhances our staff and stakeholders’ skills. We base our approach on manaakitanga, community and policy engagement. By gathering information and continuously learning, we refine our strategies for effective, sustainable impact and adapt to emerging challenges. To read more about the Theory of Change model and how we utilise it, read further on our website: https://lnkd.in/e9YumzFU #individualwellbeing #community #systemschange #TheoryOfChange #formerrefugees #migrants #inclusion

Beludji Narcisse, Research Associate for the Partnership, shares his experience with housing instability as a young, Haitian refugee in America. "As immigrants, we are expected by society to walk a fine line between integrating into the American workforce and striving for ourselves. This fine line is portrayed as a matter of human dignity in our economic system, yet those who were not fortunate enough to enter legally cannot walk it. Better policies are needed to ensure that immigrant communities thrive and can fully participate in the American economy." In 2006, National Immigrants Day was established to honor and celebrate the vital contributions of immigrants throughout history. From inventors and entrepreneurs to scientists and educators, immigrants have left an indelible mark on the evolution of our nation. 🌎🙌 The NASH RRI works to support all people with forcibly displaced backgrounds, including people with refugee status, humanitarian parole, asylum seekers, Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) holders, and formerly internally displaced persons. Several of the RRI’s programs only engage people with legal refugee status because of external restrictions, but the goal of the RRI is to be inclusive of all displaced or formerly displaced people in their early years in the U.S. #NationalImmigrantsDay #CelebrateDiversity #RRI #RefugeeResettlementInitiative
