Just jumped off from our first Deloitte Baltics All-Staff call of the year, and let me tell you, it was anything but ordinary! This time around, we decided to switch things up a bit and hand the reins over to our teams across Baltics.   ❓ We posed a crucial question: What topics are you most eager to explore during our company-wide gatherings?   We got so many suggestions, and we couldn't be more thrilled with the outcome. From celebrating milestones of our colleagues to business success stories– our teams voiced their preferences loud and clear. We listened, we adapted, and we delivered! But the excitement didn't stop there. All Baltic Partners took center stage to answer anonymous questions, providing candid insights. Thank you to each and every one of our colleagues for actively shaping our meeting agenda and making it tailored to our needs. Your curiosity, engagement, and willingness to ask questions (also the tough ones) are what make these moments truly memorable. Deloitte’s Partner pool grows each year, and this year, our Baltic Partner team is no exception. Andris Liepins has reached a new milestone in his career, and on June 1st, we will officially welcome him to our team, we are very excited to see what the future will hold! It wasn't so long ago that I was one of the newly promoted Partners myself, and I vividly recall my excitement, doubts and uncertainties at that time. Now almost 9 years have passed, and I can come to some conclusions, and, hopefully, pass on some of my experience to those who are just at the beginning of the journey.   💡 Becoming a Partner is not a destination – it is a journey. The biggest misconception is that it might seem you've accomplished something tremendous, but it’s the new beginning, and you are at the starting line.   💡 Suddenly, from being the most senior, you become the most junior among other Partners, and from being in a position where you feel like a big fish, you feel small in the deep-sea waters. New connections, new perspectives and major growth opportunities lie ahead, exciting, isn’t it?   💡 The biggest worry that circulates is – from peers to being a leader – how collaboration within the team will change. Will everyone be as open as they were before? The key here is to remain true to yourself, stay humble, and keep working on your relationships because, at the end of the day, that's all that matters. Last week, I closed the book on my Deloitte story after many incredible years at the Firm. I’m filled with gratitude for the opportunities I’ve had to author five distinct career chapters, working with teams across Asia Pacific, Europe and North America. It’s been an unforgettable journey, and as we collectively face the emerging world of artificial intelligence, four reflections stand out—connected to the remarkable human minds I’ve worked with over the years: 1. Never stop challenging yourself and your teams: Growth occurs when we push beyond the familiar. One of my favourite quotes is, “Life begins at the edge of your comfort zone.” The magic happens when we take on challenges with uncertain outcomes, encouraging ourselves and our teams to aim higher than we thought possible. As leaders, we must help people build on their strengths so they can create something new with confidence and excitement. 2. The potential and power of combinations: When diverse minds, skills, and perspectives come together, incredible things happen. I’ve witnessed firsthand that the best solutions emerge at the intersection of disciplines. However, bringing people together is just the start—leaders must cultivate the physical, psychological, and emotional environment needed for creative collaboration to thrive, turning ideas and energy into meaningful outcomes. 3. The value of friendship: Through all the projects, deadlines, and transformations, it’s the relationships we build that matter most. The friendships I’ve formed with colleagues, clients, and mentors have been the true highlight of my time at Deloitte, making every success sweeter and every challenge worthwhile. 4. Be adaptable and open to new opportunities: Careers can take many directions and staying open to the unexpected can lead to amazing outcomes you hadn’t considered. Flexibility, combined with the right mindset, often reveals opportunities we didn’t initially foresee. Along the way, it’s those around us—our friends and colleagues—who help us see new possibilities and routes to success. A heartfelt thank you to everyone I’ve worked with and the clients I’ve had the privilege to serve. It has been wonderful working with you all. I’m stepping into my next adventure with an open heart and a mind ready for a fresh challenge...
