Last week I had the privilege and honor to represent EY at the Ascend Leadership National Convention in Austin, TX. With over 2,000 attendees — and 180 colleagues from EY — I was inspired by the power of vulnerability and each of the amazing speakers sharing their “ascend story”. Standing strong alongside other Pan-Asian leaders, I feel empowered to shatter the “bamboo” & glass ceilings. My key takeaways from the convention are as follows: 🏸Cultivate a team around you for advocacy. Advancement is a team sport. 🫶🏻Discover your personal “why” and be unapologetically yourself. 📣In order to Ascend, you must speak up and create your own unique value. 🔍Mentorship has a dual lens. Become the mentor for others that you wish you had, and search for mentors that will push you up. 🏔️Be intentional and strategic about where you want to go. Take the risk, take the leap.
