Wow, what a whirlwind Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity has been! It certainly felt like the biggest one in a while, and it was fantastic to catch up with so many industry peers. While the spotlight was on the Lions winners, I also had the pleasure of meeting some incredible award show organizers—yes, they’re in Cannes too! Cannes Lions may be the biggest and most well-known, but it’s not the only award you should consider entering, especially now that you have all your awards assets ready. Whether you celebrated a win last week or traveled back without a trophy, there are other remarkable shows worth your attention. These events are run by passionate individuals who are deeply invested in our industry, and I had the honor of meeting some of them! Due to LinkedIn’s character limits, I’ll introduce these shows one by one, starting with those with upcoming deadlines: First up is the LIA - London International Awards, with a deadline on July 12. Despite the name, LIA is judged in Las Vegas and run by an all-female power team who are dedicated to their craft. You won’t find a big festival or award show around it, but LIA goes back to the heart of the industry and has been doing so since Barbara Levy founded the awards in 1986. They gather the best creatives from around the world, maintaining the highest judging standards, and hold final judging sessions with an open door policy for full transparency. Additionally, every year LIA invites 125 young creatives to their LIAisons program for onsite training and networking, and they’ve even initiated a mentoring program. When you enter LIA, you’re not just competing; you’re contributing to the industry’s future. The next entry deadline is July 12, so dust off your Cannes entries and hop over to their website. Connect with and follow Barbara Levy, Laurissa Levy and Christina Shaw to see the amazing work they do with their small but fierce team. Stay tuned for more introductions to other fantastic award shows! #CannesLions #LondonInternationalAwards #CreativeExcellence #AwardShows #IndustryLeaders
