We’d like to send a huge thank you to everyone who helped the Camden election count run smoothly last week 👏 Since last year there’s been a lot of work happening behind the scenes to prepare for the general election – so when it was called just over six weeks ago, we got to work transforming five floors of our council offices at 5 Pancras Square into the count venue for our two Camden constituencies, Holborn & St Pancras and Hampstead & Highgate. It takes a lot of people to run a successful count – a huge thank you to teams across the council who pulled together under Acting Returning Officer (also Camden Council Chief Executive) Jenny Rowlands. Our teams managed everything from the recruitment of 320 count staff, to preparing the building’s systems and set up and making sure it looked the part, to looking after national TV broadcasters so they had everything they needed to report live from the count. You might have spotted some of them on your TV screens alongside some familiar faces that night. We’d also like to thank all of our staff for your hard work in the run up to election day - everyone who worked at a polling station on Thursday, on the night of the count, and of course to all our teams who continued to provide council services for our residents. This truly was a team effort!
If Elections were run by boroughs, CAMDEN would get my vote hans down !! The staff had this down to a 'T'. Pat yourselves on the back...WELL DONE
So amazing to watch, kudos to those involved in the process 👏.
This was a well run operation. I was impressed.
Very exciting to see Fiona Bruce in the office! 😆
