Get Set for another contract win. We are excited to announce that we’ve been awarded a contract to deliver an Individual Placement and Support in Primary Care (IPSPC) programme for Surrey County Council, as part of the Work Wise scheme. Our large team of Employment Specialists will be providing services to almost 1,000 individuals across Surrey’s top 5 “Key Neighbourhoods”, 📍 including Hooley, Merstham & Netherne, Canalside, Westborough, Stoke and Stanwell North. Additionally, our services will also support residents accessing community health services and ethnically diverse people, including those who speak English as a second language. This IPSPC programme provides employment support to adults with long-term conditions or disabilities to help them access and maintain work. This supports Surrey County Council’s system-wide objectives to ‘grow a sustainable economy from which everyone can benefit’, ensure no one is left behind, and everyone is able to fulfil their potential. It recognises employment as a social determinant of health and wellbeing that will support improvements in health inequalities. Through this scheme, Get Set UK's services will enable individuals access to employment, in many cases quickly, building on their strengths and skills, enabling them to realise their potential for recovery. Our Employment Specialists will work alongside a network of existing health and care teams and local employers to support those who want to work. Thomas Harley FIEP FRSA, Get Set UK’s CEO: “The IPS model is a proven model of employment support for people with mental health issues. It has been shown to deliver superior employment and health outcomes, achieving up to twice as many job outcomes for people with severe mental illness than traditional programmes. Through the Work Wise programme, Get Set UK will offer expansive support services to those with mental or physical disabilities, those already accessing health services and/or those with ESOL needs, to find jobs that meet their strengths and skills, whilst also supporting their wider needs.” Get Set for a better tomorrow. We were invited to attend the #homecareworkforcesupportprogram 'who cares' luncheon in Brisbane where we heard Ian Montague, Rose Harris, and Professor Julie Byles share their project journey and evaluation outcomes. Key learnings included the importance of candidate experience, in particular, speed when it comes to time to hire -The evaluation found Speed to Market Matters • 70% of candidates wanted to start immediately. • 99% of candidates wanted to start within 4 weeks. However, over 50% of candidates took more than 4 weeks from submission to employer to starting work. The findings also highlight the importance of partnerships in training and employment pathways to help providers identify, screen, support, and train their candidates. Well done to COTA Queensland Skills Hubs, and Skills Generation for achieving your targets and helping providers in QLD with a pipeline of workers over the past two years. #AgedCare #WorkforceDevelopment #Partnerships

#CareWorkforcePathway, #SimpleEnglish The Care Workforce Pathway is a new career structure for the adult social care workforce in England. It sets out the knowledge, skills, values, and behaviours needed to work in adult social care, as well as the learning and development options the workforce has in each role category. The pathway focuses on direct care and support roles at four levels: ✅ New to Care, ✅ Care or Support Worker ✅ Supervisory/Leadership ✅ Practice Leader. Each level has a defined set of behaviours, knowledge, and skills expected of someone to work at that level. The pathway also demonstrates how someone can develop within each category, building on their knowledge and skills to provide the best possible care to the people who receive their support. The Care Workforce Pathway is designed to empower people working in social care to develop themselves and their careers by setting out how they can gain skills, access learning and development, and progress in their careers in a way that meets their aspirations. The pathway will take time to embed, and Skills for Care will continue to engage with the sector to identify what further assets and tools may be needed to make sure the pathway supports employers with recruitment, induction, and training. It highlights strengths and identifies gaps for future delivery. 👉 The Strategic Report: This provides summative findings from the evaluation and offers recommendations to enhance future service delivery. These comprehensive assessments have involved consultations with a wide range of key stakeholders and customers. The work reflects the Welsh Government’s commitment to supporting the diverse needs of the Welsh population.
