Reason Three why you may choose to give to Rocky Mountain Wild in these last few days of the end-of-the-year fundraising: Better Public Lands Management. This year, the Bureau of Land Management proposed a Public Lands Rule that would modernize their national policies to balance conservation with other uses on public lands. Alison led a virtual workshop about commenting on the rule and worked with partner organizations to support this important reform. Yea it’s a five minute video, who watches those anymore! However, if you followed us over the course of Serve Week 2024 (The Ocho) this is an awesome wrap up and great work by the team. We try and use LinkedIn to open a window into our culture. And while Foundry Commercial isn’t perfect and we will always have work to do in pursuit of our standards, I think this is one of the things we get really right. We are a services company and spending time with these amazing organizations, which we encourage you to check out and support, reminds us what true service looks like. It is a week where we try to give back and we always end up getting so much more than we give. Great job Lauren and the entire Serve Week support team. #foundrycommercial #itspersonal #theocho #serveweek2024

🎈 I don’t have much of a sweet tooth, but last weekend I decided to lick down a one-scoop ice cream cone following a leisurely 7-mile run. About midway through the scoop, just as I took my first nibble of the cone itself, I thought about how that ice cream cone reminded me of a well-functioning mission-driven organization: 🍦 Let’s be honest. We are really here for the ice cream, not the cone. That is to say we enjoy the sweet taste of success when a program succeeds, an organization’s goals are met and the fundraisers are making it rain. 🍦But we must recognize the value of the cone, too. It provides the structure for the ice cream to be transported and consumed. Although not as sweet, it’s the necessary support behind the scenes. So, next time you’re enjoying your ice cream, whatever flavor it may be, pay attention to the cone. Invest in the right cone. Think about how messy it would be if the cone was fractured, not durable enough, or the ramifications of the ice cream landing in unintended places. (In case you're interested, the name of the flavor was Cookie Monster.) https://lnkd.in/eAuWUsDh #Nonprofits #DEI #TaxExempt #UnionStrong #GreenNewDeal #MissionDriven #Philanthropy #CharitableTrusts #PlannedGiving

🌱💼 Audaciously Grow with the Tenacity of a Snowdrop 🌨️🌼 Just before the snowfall earlier this week, I noticed this green plant had emerged and flowered in my backyard. I was taken aback by this seemingly fragile plant's ability to defy what I would have thought were the odds against it. A quick Google search taught me that this is the plant’s natural inclination. The snowdrop is a tenacious little plant! #Fundraisers encounter seasons when conditions may seem too grim for growth. But the work HAS to be done. The missions are far too important for real people, animals, our environment, and Earth. To secure the funds that sustain the work, it takes determination and well-informed, creative strategic planning to cultivate and fortify the bond between the work of the organization and current and potential #donors. In the height of the spring, amidst a garden of big, vibrant blooms, I probably wouldn’t have even noticed the small droopy bulbs of the snowdrop. Its appearance during a time of year that all but guarantees it will grasp and be the center of attention is genius marketing! Fundraisers are constantly challenged with finding ways to garner the attention and commitment of donors. Perhaps we can take the snowdrop as inspiration for finding new creative approaches for #nonprofits. Now that most people have recovered from the whirlwind of the holidays and year-end, it may be a great time in fundraising to make your mission known. People may be more attentive amidst the seasonal quiet before the promises and beauty of spring steal back their focus. #Fundraising #Resilience #growth #thoughtleadership
