HasleTre is awarded a Honorable Mention at The City of Oslo´s Architecture award. Excerpt from Jørgen Tycho's acceptance speech on behalf of Oslotre AS, our clients Höegh Eiendom AS, AF Eiendom and the tenants Save the Children Norway: HasleTre is built for reusability, where all the components in the building are intended to have the highest possible second-hand value when they are removed from the building. Through HasleTre, we have made a massive leap in knowledge. We have reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 60% and achieved an 80% reduction in steel used in the building. We have eliminated the need for plastic, silicone, and building foam. Above ground, there is not a single gram of concrete. It's a building made of natural materials that sequester CO2 instead of emitting it during production. Additionally, the materials are regenerative, which means we will never run out of them if we manage our forests responsibly. It's a circular way of thinking, much like how nature functions. In nature, there's no such thing as waste. Everything has a utility. This mindset needs to return to architecture and society to address the challenges of this century, such as climate change and biodiversity loss. We need to move away from the building practices of the previous century and the linear use-and-discard mentality. To bring about this change, we need forward-thinking property developers and clients, like Höegh and AF Eiendom, who have taken the lead in this project. However, individual projects are not enough if we are to achieve a green transition. We need to make fundamental changes in how we build and think, and this needs to happen relatively quickly. We congratulate this years winner Hovinbekken by Bjørbekk & Lindheim landskapsarkitekter and our co/second place Nasjonalmuseet for kunst, arkitektur og design by KLAUS SCHUWERK GESELLSCHAFT VON ARCHITEKTEN MBH Team: Oslotre AS I-d. The Tilburg Architecture Film Festival (TIAFF) is back for it's ninth edition, inviting you to explore the theme HABITAT on April 5 and 6 at Filmtheater Cinecitta Tilburg. Against the backdrop of a housing crisis, TIAFF aims to redirect our focus to a pivotal question: What kind of living environment do we envision for the future? In 2024, the festival expands our collective imagination with a program highlighting circular architecture, evolving housing structures, bio-diverse public spaces, intimate portraits of architects, and innovative ecological construction methods. Habitat delves into the art of shaping inclusive environments for animals, plants, and people. Since the housing protest on September 12 2021, discussions about a housing crisis and the need for 900,000 homes have persisted. By 2030, the imperative is clear: for every nine existing homes, one more must be added. However, in addressing this crisis, the discourse has fixated on numerical targets, pace, and affordability, sidelining the critical question of how we wish to inhabit the future. The challenge extends beyond a mere shortage of homes; it encompasses a profound transformation in design and environment, influenced by factors such as circularity, climate adaptation, demographics, and biodiversity. Regrettably, the exploration of leveraging this challenge to enhance the quality of our living environment remains largely overlooked. In response, TIAFF is committed to broadening the narrative in 2024. The program's focal point is not solely on the scarcity of homes but encompasses a comprehensive exploration of the profound transformation unfolding in design and surroundings. Emphasizing circularity, climate adaptation, demographics, and biodiversity, the festival seeks to elevate the discourse, prompting a reconsideration of how we conceptualize and actualize the spaces we inhabit. The ninth edition promises to not only showcase films, lectures, discussions, and Q&A sessions but to also serve as a catalyst for envisioning a future where the shaping of our living spaces reflects a harmonious coexistence between humans, animals, and plants. Watch captivating films, engage in discussions with speakers, and gain insights into the theme HABITAT. This event promises a dynamic discourse shaping the future of our living spaces. You are invited to join us at film house Cinecitta Tilburg on April 5 and 6 for TIAFF 2024! Check out www.tiaff.nl, follow TIAFF on LinkedIn and Instagram for more info on HABITAT, the films and the speakers.

"Lets keep pioneering our way out of this standstill!" Bas Overweg signed the Doorbouwakkoord Amsterdam in the name of Apto Architects. The aim of this 'Continued Construction Agreement' is to proceed to build on short notice and make a structural contribution to the future of Amsterdam in the long term. As Apto we strongly believe that these times of market crisis provide opportunities to invent new ways of developing and construction. Creativity and modern craftsmenship is needed more than ever. With Omgevingschecker.nl (online tool with Kurtosis for developers and municipalities to speed up the spatial planning procedures), working on new ways of modular building with Vastint. And embracing the new economies with our circular projects like Kokomo Amsterdam. #doorbouwakkoord #woningtekort #architectuur

The What if Lab: Rethinking Shared Space is listed as one of the things you can't miss during Dutch Design Week 2023 by de Architect NL! Still planning your DDW visit? Be sure to drop by! Read an English excerpt from the article below: " What if Lab: Rethinking shared space in the Klokgebouw Together with the Dutch Design Foundation, architecture and engineering consultancy Sweco is organising the 'What if Lab' for the third time. In this lab, selected designers are challenged to develop a groundbreaking application for the spatial, social and digital domain. This year, architecture firm Space&Matter, strategy and design firm Starling and design firm cocosmos will present their ideas on 'the future-proof living, working and living environment'. A new vision on this is much needed, as pressure on space is increasing. What happens when shared space is designed in such a way that people, industry and mobility coexist sustainably? And we set industry against housing, or mobility against quality of life, or nature against agriculture? Curious about the solutions thought up? Then be sure to drop by the 'What if lab'! Location: Strijp-S, Klokgebouw | Hall 1, Klokgebouw 50. Open from 11:00 - 18:00. " Many thanks to de Architect for the publication and everyone involved in the project – We're proud to share our Valuescapes instrument as part of this exposition. How can you exhibit a space? How can you exhibit an experience? ✨Join to dive into this immersive architectural journey with us ✨
We are proud to announce the exhibition ‘Aware’ developed by 3XN GXN in collaboration with Danish Architecture Center. The exhibition will be an immersive experience, inviting you to explore the relationship between architecture and the senses. Aware presents the fundamental ingredients of space: not concrete or steel, but relations between bodies and spaces, between human emotions and spatial atmospheres. Aware encourages us to explore and reflect on our experience in space, delving into the behavioral principles behind architecture and their transformative potential. Uncover the hidden questions beneath the surface: 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙙𝙤𝙚𝙨 𝙖𝙧𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙩𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙙𝙤? 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙚𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙘𝙩 𝙙𝙤𝙚𝙨 𝙞𝙩 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙤𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪, 𝙤𝙣 𝙪𝙨, 𝙤𝙣 𝙪𝙨 𝙖𝙡𝙡? Aware will be on display from March 22nd – September 15th 2024 at Danish Architecture Center (Dansk Arkitektur Center) in #Copenhagen. Join us at the opening on Thursday 21 March from 17:00 to 21:00. All info about the exhibition and official opening: https://lnkd.in/dWtr3-Xx THANK YOU: Aware is made possible with support from Realdania, #KnudHøjgaardsFond, #BeckettFonden, Ole Kirk's Fond, Statens Kunstfond and #NationalbankensJubilæumsfond.
