Cybersecurity recruitment and team building require those hiring to evolve their traditional approach and capabilities to effectively attract and secure the best candidates for their organisation. While not specific to cybersecurity, job descriptions for these roles are often very poorly written, more so than other technology roles. Creating accurate and detailed job descriptions is crucial to attract the right candidates. Cyber security roles often require specific technical skills, certifications, and knowledge. A clear job description ensures that candidates are aware of the technical competencies and qualifications necessary to succeed in the role. Cyber security has evolved beyond passive defence or in-the-moment responses, to proactively assessing potential threats ahead of time. This is why threat intelligence has become an essential part of strategies worldwide, no matter the size of the company. Threat intelligence provides context for decision-making processes, and helps defend against attacks before they ever happen. Strategies that don’t feature threat intelligence have a gaping hole. Is your cyber security strategy missing an expert? Quanta Hire can help find that missing piece. Reach out at [email protected] to discuss the kind of skilled candidates you’re after. #hiring #recruitment #threatintelligence #cybersecurity

I can be annoying and I know it. I can’t help it and if I could I wouldn’t. Here’s some job search tips. Let me change your life right quick. Nathan Chung I loved your post. I wanted to avoid clogging up your post with my ramblings… Here’s some #SaturdayGold and if this is helpful, let me know, hit the notification bell on my page, and I’ll share more. ❌ 1. What you think: Keep your resume to 1-2 pages. ✅ Truth is, who knows what has happened since that job post came out or how long it took for the manager to finally get approval to hang the post. We’re all grown, they can stop reading when they want. What’s more important is that every word earns it’s spot on the page and it’s all defensible. ❌2. What you think: I’m the best. My resume will be seen and I’ll win the interview. ✅ Truth is, more than being the best, it matters if you can align with the organization, can you help the business where they are, and can you communicate and contribute. ❌3. What you think: I lost my job. I’m on my own. Woe is me. ✅ Thuth is, organizations let people go for many reasons. Will you ever know the truth? Reach out to everyone and get the details to help your resume, ask for references, let them see where you are applying, and how your resume looks. I promise you, just because you were let go, that does not mean they want you to fail at life. Unless someone was a full on jerk, I can call anyone. Even if they were, I still call. We’ve got families to feed. If you fail to stand up for yourself, why would anyone else? Tag someone who’s looking for new opportunities. Post new opportunities also. #confidence #mentalhealth #life #mornings #weekend #awareness #community #resume #infosec #jobs

One big resume tip one often hears is to include numbers. However, when working in Cybersecurity, it is sometimes hard to quantify your work. For example, for GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance), you can quantify the amount of audit control failures remediated, how much risk you reduced, or the amount of money you saved the company by avoiding fines. A manager or executive can list the number of people they managed. A security network engineer can list the rough number of endpoints and network devices they managed. Some jobs that will be harder to quantify will be incident response, threat hunting, pen testing, and security architecture. Open question to the community: How would you quantify those jobs on a resume? #cyber #cybersecurity #informationsecurity #infosec #infosecurity #resume
