According to this article, new technology will completely transform the sports industry by keeping score, minimizing injuries, raising spectator involvement, and evaluating the reliability of plays and goals. The fact that sensors will play a significant role in both the sports world of today and the future is one of the things I found interesting about this essay. They utilize them to track speed, heart rates, pressure strikes, and many other things, including athletes' sleeping patterns. How much technology we have been able to develop and how it has changed throughout the history of sports is truly amazing. This is relevant to me as well because being a sports manager or working in the sports sector, in general, requires a significant amount of fan engagement.
"Whether it is cutting the duration of a training exercise, adding extra players in the middle of the popular ‘rondo’ drill to reduce intensity, or simply making the pitch smaller in a practice game, the #insight that this #technology provides allows staff to mitigate the physical output of a player by tailoring sessions to their unique attributes — decreasing injury risk while maximising peak performance across a season."
We pride ourselves on using #evidencebased#decisionmaking in our #operationalexcellence Department, thus better ensuring we are tackling actual #rootcause-s, identifying appropriate #solutions, and fine-tuning them through a culture of #continuousimprovement.
The problem?
We often struggle to find the #data we need to make all of this happen, and thus must identify proxies in order to get there.
As a lover of #soccer / #football, a lover of data, and a lover of evidence-based decision-making, I thoroughly enjoyed this article. If only we could apply this technology to our work at PSI!

Great discussion on The Vergecast , the Vision Pro and Mark Zuckerberg's recent notable comments on the device that took centre stage, offering a rich tapestry of perspectives on this groundbreaking piece of technology.
The conversation focused on the intricate dance between innovation and user experience, highlighting Vision Pro's ambitious attempt to redefine how we interact with digital spaces. Yet, it was Zuckerberg's critique that added depth, juxtaposing Meta's pragmatic approach to wearable tech against Apple's bold vision, suggesting a more gradual and inclusive path towards integrating augmented reality into our daily lives.
Zuckerberg's recent video, acknowledged the Vision Pro's technological marvel but pointed out the practical challenges it faces in meeting the immediate needs and expectations of users. His critique underscored a vital aspect of tech innovation: the balance between pushing the boundaries of what's possible and ensuring those advances are tangible, accessible, and beneficial to the end user.
This discourse between two tech titans brings to the fore a critical moment in the evolution of wearable devices, they are here, they are both a reality and whether you want to call it #metaverse or #spatialcomputing it is here with us.
However the industry's direction will be shaped not just by the capabilities of the technologies developed but also by how well they resonate with the everyday lives of users. The Vision Pro, with its blend of promise and challenge, serves as a beacon for this journey, inviting us to ponder the real essence of innovation in the realm of wearable technology.
The conversation on The Vergecast, enriched by Zuckerberg's insights, offers a compelling narrative on the complexities of introducing advanced technologies into the market. It invites us to reflect on the essence of innovation and its impact on our lives, reminding us that the true measure of technological advancement lies not just in its technical feats but in its ability to enhance the human experience in meaningful ways.
A highly recommended watch for both Apple VP and Meta Quest fans as the competition for the future of the #metaverse grows ever larger by the day. What is your opinion or viewpoint on this ?
