👏🏻🎉 this annual break L.L.Bean takes from social intrigues me for a couple of reasons. 1) as a lover of the outdoors, I love the incentive to get outside and be more present! 2) as someone in the marcom space, we’re always hounded about content plans, posts, engagement, etc. most would SHUDDER at the thought of going silent on their channels for a month, but thanks to a clear brand identity and well-played and planned strategy, they’re able to make this bold move work FOR rather than against them. Such a solid example of why leaning into your why, your values, etc., as an entity (and also as a person) is always the right thing to do. Three cheers for intentional purpose and authenticity! Two things the world definitely needs more of.

Wow. In this day of hyper-, all-the-time “on-ness,” this is a bold and brilliant move from another great brand. Would be so interesting to see the impact if more brands/individuals/organizations could follow suit. Are we all too afraid of “getting lost”? Maybe. My current job search feels like it requires an “always on” strategy (I know other seekers are feeling the same). Can I give myself some grace from “the socials” and still be efficient in the hunt?
